The room was fine, service was fine...

The beds wasn't the most comfortable and the pillows were feather and cheap.

Internet was good.
Location was decent - one block from the ocean.
We took the city bus #150 from the airport... was easy and quick.

The breakfast is pretty pathetic. Not much for vegetarians. Wasn't very appetizing either way.

Stayed for 2 nights at the circa 39 Hotel, a 3 star Art Deco style Hotel in Miami Beach. Collins avenue 3900 at corner of 39th street. It is too far for walking to the main area at lincoln road and Ocean's drive. Collins avenue is a very noisy street, so if you have a sleeping problem, this is not yours.

Staff is incompetent and not interested at all. Rooms are very dirty and bathtub is loosing paint when taking a shower. Good thing is the private parking lot next door for 25 dollars a day. Quite a few guests were reporting problems at the reception and the problems were not handled very well. They should learn some skills in hospitality and should not show that they don't like their job.

Now staying at the President's hotel further down the road at collins avenue between 14th and 15th street around the corner from ocean drive. Same price category and excellent choice. take the 401 or 403 with balcony. see other review.

If you just need a bed and a room, then perhaps circa 39 is ok for you.

Very good location, 100 metres from the beach. there is a bike stand nearby which was very convenient to ride down beautiful South Beach. Close to all the clubs and restaurants. Staff were very bland, hardly acknowledged the guests as they played games on their computers, but didn't think much of it considering the cheap rate compared to other hotels in South Beach. Overall, a nice basic and clean hotel.

The lobby is quite nice and the location is good, however the rooms are a bit old and in need of a facelift and some maintenance. We were woken one morning by the curtain holder falling out of the wall and there was plenty of noise coming from next door. The staff were nice and helpful when there. The tourist desk was unattended most of the time when we were there. Good breakfast included.
