The hotel is old but that it's ok I can deal with that. old sheets, old towels, even old roaches. They don't have computer to check you in, out or anything the front desk guys saw him taking a nap so I wake him up to check in, I told the maid Louis (I think that's her name) anyway is the only one not service but she still when anyway so I lost some papers from my job cause she thought it was garbage beside in the morning she dose front desk too but she was never there cause I call from my room ( my own cell cause they don't have a house phone) and she never pick up that's why I when down for nothing cause like i said she was never there. and next day I told her no service but I don't think she cares she still go anyway the only good thing about this is for check out i wait for 5 min. & since she wasn't there i left , next time hotels.com travelocity etc...... save the trouble

The place is a older but it has a family type charm to it. Staff is kind and helpful once engaged and its located in the heart of Miami Beach. I'm enjoying my stay!

“GAVE MY ROOM AWAY AND LEFT ME OUT ON THE STREET. TERRIBLE SERVICE.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2010

I called these guys weeks before my trip out to Miami to place a reservation. Red flag number one that they're running on a completely antiquated system should've been when I heard this guy FLIPPING THROUGH A RESERVATION BOOK, as opposed to typing on a computer when checking for availability (a system I would have had no problem with IF IT WORKED, read on).

Called on a Friday afternoon only to be told to call back Monday morning. Called back on Monday and was told to call back the next day. BAM red flag number two. I feel dumb for not knowing right there that this place didn't have their act together. The old codger sounded like he was taking a nap and I was disturbing his sleep! Called back on the Tuesday and they took my name down and said my reservation was placed. Again, I should've known something was up when they didn't even ask for a card to make the hold.

Get to Miami and stay at the place we're supposed to stay for our first two nights, everything cool there. Call the Alamo to ask how to get there and am told that my reservation ISN'T THERE. They booked it to someone else who walked in. Obviously we were totally screwed due to the time of year that we were in Miami (WMC, everything booked solid). I had half a mind to go out there and have it out with him but honestly the guy sounds like he's on his last leg and that really wouldn't have gotten me anywhere. So now I have to call every hotel in town, all of which were booked up. Luckily my friends had rented a condo and let me crash on the floor but obviously that's no way to vacation.

The guy that runs this place sounds like Lurch from The Addams Family. They're obviously stuck in the past and have no idea how to run a hotel in the here and now. Save your money for something that's guaranteed and entered into some sort of database (which I'm sure they don't even have) it'll probably save you A LOT of headache in the end.

“Great Price for a Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2009

It's an old hotel, with an elevator that works. It's old and not beautiful, but it's clean. The owner and people who works there are very friendly. At the last day I checked out at 11am, but my flight was only at 9, so I let my 7 bags with them in a small room at the first floor and walked the city. When I came back it was all ok... Even my laptop... It's two or three blocks from the beach... Although it doesn't have wi-fi, I got one from another place at my room... And I payed only US$ 55 per day... I recommend...
