The hotel is in a prime location, very close to the beach.We booked a package through a third party and called the hotel numerous times to request a double bed, we were told its not garaunteed but they were able to provide one for us upon arrival, which was a plus. However, the room is small and dark, which is not ideal for females when you're getting ready to go out at night. The bathroom was a decent size, but nothing spectacular. The room appeared clean, but I think we may have had bed bugs, every morning we woke up with bites in different places and no it cannot be blamed on the tropical climate, because we had none when we went out during the day and night. I have stayed in other hotels in the area and never had that problem. Its not a 5-star hotel, so dont set your standards high. Enjoy its location, and dont plan to be in the room much. Happy Hour only had one bartender, so you can imagine how that went. I wont say anymore on that... I personally wont be staying here again, I would much rather pay a little bit more to be on the beach in a nicer hotel.

I have been relying on Tripadvisor for years. This was the first time I booked anything that did not have great reviews. I am glad I did! We stayed 1 night before a cruise and did not want to break the bank on a place to sleep. We were two females 23 and 43. We were both pleasantly surprised! We did spend almost 30 minutes checking in. We must of come at a bad time. For everyone that complains about the size of the rooms have not stayed in New York or Europe. Happy hour was a nice touch. Would rather have that anyday than a continental breakfast. Everyone besides the bartender was super friendly and helpful. In her defense she was new and besides us I did not see anyone tip her. FYI- TIP ON FREE DRINKS!

Checked-in to the Hotel Shelley for 2 nights. Nice lobby. Bellman put our bags on his shoulder and took them up 3 flights! We had 4 people sharing a room and opened the door to room 310! It is a SMALL room that you shimmey past the 1st double bed & table to get in the room. It allows maybe 12 inches! The room was clean, shower was good with hot water & nice water pressure. The beds were okay but glad we only stayed for 2 nighst. I liked this hotel but not more than a few nights. The $15 resort fee is ridiculous but seems like a lot of hotels do it. They do play loud music late into the night but our rooms on the 3rd floor did not hear it. The location is awesome!

After returning from a cruise, a group of us stayed at this hotel for two nights. The upside of our stay was enjoying the lobby bar and its patrons each afternoon and evening. The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. The hotel location to the beach was wonderful and the neighborhood was very lively. The downside was our room being too cramped and little lighting. It was difficult to sleep with the loud talking and music and the constant restroom door-slamming in the hallway. Overall, the pluses outweighed the minuses and we had a good time at this hotel.
