“Perfect Weekend at The Perry”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

This was my second stay at The Perry Hotel (Formerly the Gansevoort), and it was just as fantastic as I remembered it! The Perry Hotel was the perfect South Beach spot for a weekend getaway from the chilly northeast.

We stayed in an incredible partial-ocean view 1 bedroom suite which was huge by anyone's standard, but especially for South Beach. I've heard all of the rooms are oversized, but the suite is definitely worth the splurge. The decor is modern, sleek, and clean with a full bar and beautiful linens and toiletries. The bathrooms are very cool too and everything was immaculate. The views of the ocean were awesome from the nice, spacious balcony.

Besides having fabulous rooms, the Perry IS the place to hang out. And while it is a super close walk to Lincoln Road and all the hottest restaurants and clubs, its so much fun right at the Perry Hotel that you really don't even have to leave. The rooftop (adults only!) pool and lounge area had an awesome party going on all day Saturday with cool DJs spinning, beautiful people, great drinks, and was so much fun. Way cooler than your typical "tourist" scene yet not at all overwhelming. There is another great, big pool overlooking the ocean on the lower floor which was also lovely.

The restaurants are all fabulous, including STK which makes the perfect, sexy date night. The pool-side dining is something special too. Besides the typical al fresco fun fare, they also cater to healthy dieters and have all sorts of wonderful light, fresh options like tuna tartar, veggies and hummus, and more (hello bikini body!). The poolside drinks were awesome too. I stuck to the one with fresh strawberries, vodka and champagne, less calories than a pina colada and equally delicious! It was definitely a wonderful weekend!

Rumor has it that they are doing a 100 million dollar renovation to the hotel. I'm not sure why, since its pretty great as it is, but I guess I'm excited to see what will be coming. Hopefully renovations won't begin until spring/summer, since I'd like to go back to the Perry Hotel for another weekend getaway very, very soon!

Room Tip: The view of the beach and ocean is awesome. I definitely recommend requesting an ocean-view and balc...

“Great Stay, A little bit too trendy for the family...”

We booked in the Gansevoort Miami Beach for the weekend. The staff is friendly and helpful, checkin was a breeze. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The pools are wonderful and relaxing to overlook the beach. The rooftop pool was closed a few times because of private parties. The room was super comfortable, but the decor was a little odd. Pictures of women in lingerie all over the walls may be trendy, but can make some people uncomfortable, especially if you bring your family. This is a truly nice hotel.

“Classy hotel in a great quiet location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Nice hotel... people in front desk and staff were very helpful. Not too many options for good food and beers at the pool. Room has a smell like it is always closed, seems that does not have proper ventilation. Air condition makes noise, but works fine. Hotel is close to walgreens, so it is convenient.

Area recommendations
You need to go to Lincoln Road. Go to ocean drive, go south! that's where miami is. Sushi Samba good option in Lincoln Road.... and Hostreria Romana in Española Way also very good food and remarkable service. Beach near hotel is very nice, very good for our 5y kid. If your stay will be for some days, you can buy a beach umbrella at walgreens for $19 instead of paying daily fee of $15 at the beach. Towels are free for hotel guests

“Gansevoort Miami Bought Out By Starwood Holdings with $100M in Renovations Planned”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We liked the location of The Perry Hotel- a little North of South Beach, however, it is in need for some serious renovations and face-lift. Due to the recent turn over in name and management, the front desk was not prepared to check us in right away. It seemed like there were a bunch of people running around behind the desk with their heads cut off! Our room was not ready on time, we had to wait quite a while. Rooms are spacious and if you do happen to have a room facing the ocean I am sure the views are nice. Rooftop pool & bar is worth a trip up the elevator with nice views. Guests also get the use of the infamous David Barton Gym for $15 per day and the use of their spa. Room Service is friendly and efficient, however, the menu is quite boring and there is a lack of choices for those who eat on the healthier side. Lobby has a stunning wrap-around aquarium, which even includes a few small sharks! Concierge was helpful and pointed us in the right direction in terms of restaurants, shopping, and activities. Our stay overall was above-average but not good. We wouldn't come back to this hotel if and when we decide to visit Miami again.

“Very worn and tired”

We booked into an ocean view suite and we hugely dissapointed. The room was huge but there were scuff marks and cracks on the furniture. The windows were so dirty you could barely see out. The ocean view was essentially an massive air conditioning unit painted white surrounded by AstroTurf - hideous! Not even a glimpse of the beach in the distance was possible. We decided to move out straight away to a different hotel. The staff on reception were very pleasent but I'd avoid at all costs.
