“Gross”

Very dirty! There were stains on the comforter. When we turned on the sink, tiny tan bugs came out! When we reported this to the manager, there was no empathy. He coldly announced, "Well, you're not gonna get your money back." Really? Dude, we WERE just going to ask for another room...So we just cut our losses and went to another hotel.

Naima,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry for any inconvience you may have received during your stay in June. Would you be able to provide me with the name of the employee you dealt with during your stay? I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,

“Cheap enough for a one nights stay!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We were only in Miami for one night and wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful as we went out clubbing most of the night!
The metropole is situated on Collins Avenue and is in a great location!!! Ocean drive is just a 2 min walk away as is the famous south beach!!! Also near the apartments are great shops and also plenty of places to eat!

The downside to the metropole! We were charged for using the mini bar which we never used as there was a Walgreens about a 2 min walk away! They charged us $29 and we only noticed this on return to the uk! They were reluctant to give This back to us, however, 2 weeks after perusing this we managed to get the money back!

Next; the hotel charges $32 a night for valet parking as it states there is nowhere near by to park your car, however, we found a car park a bit further down the road on the right which looked secure and was a lot cheaper!

Lastly, it took about half an hour to check in as we were waiting for someone to come to the desk! Other than that we found the staff to be quite helpful and friendly and recommended places to eat an drink :)

Overall we can't complain to much because we only paid £65 for the night compared to some of the beach front hotels which charge about £150 a night!!!

Would recommend apartments to the young ones!

Thank you for posting a review of the Metropole. Thank you for providing other readers with information regarding parking. There are several parking lots located in different areas of south beach. The Valet Parking provided is optional and provided for the convenience of our guests. I am glad to hear that you had a great stay and hope that you will stay with us again in the future.

Thank you,

Steven Morales

“Right in the heart of South Beach!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

The property was conveniently located, offered beach towels, mini-bar, hairdryer, etc. The beach chair and bike rentals were very convenient and both items were in good working order. They allowed us to check in early the day we arrived (10 am!!!), and we got a later checkout (noon), plus they stored our bags for free until our shuttle picked us up. They had a great public outdoor lounge for reading, relaxing, and catching a little sun. They even allowed us to use their restroom to change before leaving - since we had already checked out. All we had to do was ask (it isn't out in plain sight). The shuttle to and from the airport was even included in our hotel package price. The hotel is only a block off the beach, so it was easy to walk there several times a day. We also enjoyed the parks and boardwalk that are extremely close... it even had a decent family vibe - especially given that we were in South Beach. My only negative feedback: the toilet was extremely difficult (clogged at least twice during our 4 days) and there isn't a pool or hot tub... other than that - a great vacation getaway!

Room Tip: Our room on Collins Ave was great for people watching, but not so great for sleeping.

“What a Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

We booked 2 rooms for only a night so we really cared more about price and location then anything else. We got a screaming deal on the hotels.com sight and expected to be disappointed. Anything but...While it is little to look at from the outside (great location though) and the lobby was the size of a bathroom the "rooms" were really incredibly very cool, fully stocked apartments. A months stay would be no problem. We were met by our bell man, Lisandro, who was just a pleasure and one of the sweetest, nicest guy you could meet. He took our luggage and showed us the lobby, where Franco quickly checked us in and then off to see our room. It was nothing short of amazing. We had 2 suites and we laughed long at just how cool, spacious and full of amenities you would only expect to find in a vacation apartment. We would have expected to pay 2-3 times more for the accommodations and being right in the middle of "the scene" yet just far away from the craziness of Ocean Blvd. They have a neat courtyard, jacuzzi and lounging area that is very private and just a real find. Would go back there in a heart beat

Room Tip: If you want to be in South Beach you couldn't do better for twice the price

“Metropole Apartments Collins Avenue Miami Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

Lovely spacious rooms, relaxed atmosphere, staff charming, friendly and always helpful. More sedate than the Ocean Drive dives, but that musclebound catwalk just a 60 second stroll away should you feel drawn to jungle life and colonic irrigation .

Feel guilty about not tipping the kind giant Erwin more generously.
