The vacation began as a suprise from my husband for my birthday. Since he was doing all the details himself he really wanted to have a nice room for our stay. He talked extensively with a person that booked our room (later we found out they have outsourced this to another company with individuals who don't even know what the rooms look like). Two items he felt we had to have one ocean view and two a large jetted spa type tub. We were informed that to get those two items with our room we had to go to a double bed... We thought no biggie we can just be romantic like when we first started dating and snuggle real close. Ok so we make it to the hotel I give them this everyone we came into contact with that worked at the hotel was awesome!! Now here comes the part where things turn south... We make it into our room I run straight for the window which yes it has an ocean view through a cloudy uncleaned window to which I can see the pool is being worked on (never disclosed) and honestly I have seen a larger pool in someone's backyard. So I was totally unimpressed. Ok second thing I'm excited about the spa tub run to the bathroom and what do I see???? A bathtub that a small child could bath in and a shower that both of us could not fit in at once on our romantic vacation. Complete disappointment for this birthday girl. The bell boy tried to pull some strings but no dice so we called the manager of the hotel and asked for call back. So we are Waiting waiting waiting so I say ok honey let's go get dinner that might get our spirits up!!! So we come back to some cheap champagne and strawberries for the inconvenience. I tell my husband to try and find a movie ohhhhh wait it won't work even after sending a maintenance man to fix. Wow really starting to shape up here as the perfect vacation right? So we finally get the manager on the phone... We find out that we were promised something that doesn't exist except in suite form and he will need to charge us an additional $200 a night. LMAO noooo chance on that one. We called Foutaineblu just an $8.00 cab ride down the road and wound up getting a balcony ocean view room that seems like your staying in Vegas with five pools, their own private beach (no paying for towels or chairs), and top notch restaurants. Oh and since we were staying five nights Fountaineblu has a special right now for a 5th night free right now plus $100 hotel credit in turn we woulf save over $600. We were sold and packed up our stuff within 3 hours of arriving we left. I read in earlier posts don't judge this Loews by their website pictures. Their pool is small and I can see why everyone says its crowded. The sushi bar is joke it looks a dennys style lobby room sushi restaurant it's just not what they make it out to be. Location is obviously prime in south beach but 8 minutes from foutaineblu is more than reasonable for a stay that is uncomparable to foutaineblu. We will never even try to book again here nor stear a friend towards staying here. Sorry to write such a horrible review but I have never had an experience in my life like this and l feel like I need to warm people so they don't make the same mistake as we did.
