I stayed in the South Beach Hotel from November 7th-14th this year. On November 12th my roommate and I discovered a bed bug in my bed. Upon further inspection, we found other bedbugs under the mattress and on the walls next to the beds. We brought this to the attention of the South Beach Hotel staff, assuming that they would jump out of their chairs to take care of the problem. They said they would go through the room and clean it when we told them the problem. The next day we came back to the room with new sheets and blankets. We went to the front desk and they said they didn't find anything. We went into the room, looked for 30 seconds and found another bed bug and presented it to the front desk. Not only did they not care, but they wouldn't let us even SPEAK to a manager. This is the most irresponsible, poorly managed and negligent hotel I have EVER encountered. They put our sheets in with the rest of the hotel laundry, possibly spreading the bed bugs to every person in the hotel. They were unwilling to reimburse us for any of the dry cleaning of our clothes, suitcases, etc. They sent us to their other branch of South Beach Hotel, about a block away, not caring the bed bugs in our clothes and suitcases were traveling with us. We tried to speak with the manager 4 times and each time the manager would not even speak to us.
All in all-this is the WORST hotel I have EVER stayed in. The pure negligence of spreading bed bugs to not one, but TWO hotels is absolutely unbelievable. I will never return to this hotel and I recommend anyone who would like to avoid bed bugs and terrible service avoid this hotel.
