Unfortunately I didn't read the previous review until after my trip was booked. I'd have to say that appraisal of the hotel's amenities is accurate. The stove and TV both had pushbutton controls, although the TV did have a remote (which didn't work our first night there). The freezer in our refrigerator didn't freeze, and the help thoughtfully left a half-full bottle of Heineken in the door for us. (We left it for the next tenants.) The jacuzzi was OK for most of the stay but was too cool one day (fixed by the next day). The pool was small enough to fit in my living room. On the plus side, it is right on the ocean and the cleaning staff did a nice job (rooms have dishwashers which the staff use to do your dishes in if you leave them in the sink). The day we left, no one appeared to be manning the front desk for at least half an hour. Another guest who was leaving at the same time had problems, and a third woman left screaming "This place is ridiculous!"

This property is also known as the "Beekman Hotel" and is in dire need of remodelling. The kitchen cupboards, appliances and yellow wallcoverings look like you stepped into a time-machine and landed back in the 1950's. I thought I was in an episode of "I Love Lucy!"The elevators are miniscule and the semi-permanent residents who stay there (staff?) kept me up most of the night with their yelling.On the third day of my stay, a maintenance crew was pressure washing the exterior and was totally heedless of the filth and paint flakes that they were raining down on the cars parked below them. What a mess - and with NO apology!Oh, and if you want a view of the ocean, you have to step out onto the 2-foot wide balcony and crane your head 90 degrees to the left in order to see a spot of water, otherwise your only view is of the folks in the apartment building directly across the alley.
