“great hotel, great location, way overpriced valet parking!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

you are probably wondering why a 4 out of 5. it's true that this is an amazing hotel, has a great location (right at beach) the whole complex is very well maintained and is very clean, the service it's outstanding, from the moment you park your car at the front of the hotel you can see what i'm talking about, you have 2 or 3 guys just to serve you. that's customer service. the room is just WOW! i'm impressed, the decoration is great. the furniture seems new, it has a plasma or Lcd tv. the bed is absolutely wonderfull, you can sleep as a baby and you can play with your wife as an adult (if you know what i mean) that's a great combination... we only stayed for one night because next morning we had to go to orlando. the beach was great it was a sunny day, and we loved the path that guides you to the beach. the pool is great and in some point of the day was crowded. all in all is a great hotel. i just have one complaint and i had to say it because this goes right to your pocket. the valet parking was and for me is still way overpriced, everytime you need your car you have to pay 27$ i payed 54$ in parking for just one night. there are some hotels that charge you less than that for one night stay. of course you can't compare them to this one. if you ask me if i might go back, i probably say that yes, but only hitchhiking... LOL...

We stayed at the Palms for a wedding. The hotel is very nice, except the 2 queen size beds we thought we were getting turned out to be two double beds. A little cramped. Hotel staff was very good. outdoor wedding was beautiful, and well done, parrots were even taken in to keep noise down for ceremony.

Room Tip: The sobe shuttle bus for $.25 is great, didn't have rental car, was able to see a lot of south...

“One of the Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

One of the cleanest and attractive hotels in the South Beach area. The Spa attached gives it a fresh and clean feel. The private pool area is spectacular and quiet. The Beach area with it's daily beach services for towels, chairs and umbrellas is wonderful and hassle free.
The lobby was open and inviting. The rooms very well decorated, the bathroom quite a bit larger than most. We were warned to stay away from the noise of adjacent clubs and watch for mildewy older, rooms. This has neither problem. The smaller 'boutique' Hotels are quaint but definitely small in every way. This has the larger, generous feel of a resort hotel.
It is within walking distance of the street mall but need transportation to most of South Beach. We walked across the street and caught the bus to restaurants, shopping and sights of South Beach. About a 5 minute ride. Much cheaper than a cab.
Take the bus from the airport to the South Beach Hotel area.... Very easy. $5-6 each.

Room Tip: The beach is such a distance from the hotel, in fact all the hotels on the strip, it may not be nece...

“Lovely, high quality, quiet hotel in Miami Beach”

For once, a hotel that lives up to its pictures. A lovely, quiet location, with pretty gardens, warm pool, right on the beach, a little away from the buzz of South Beach. Easy to walk to South Beach along the boardwalk or the beach itself, about 8 blocks, or to take a quick cheap taxi - or the bus. There are good, cheap bus services close by. Also has a great Aveda spa, a real treat. Food lovely (though a bit expensive), beautiful ambiance, great attention to detail and quality. Its slightly in a 'no man's land', in terms of the area, with nothing much around it in terms of bars and restaurants .. but, as noted, easy to walk to find all that. Some construction going on nearby, so perhaps a good idea to check with the hotel re. noise levels and room choice. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: Certainly worth having a sea-view room, which is beautiful, rather than the street view, which is ve...

“Great Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Although the hotel is a 15 minute walk from to the main attractions, it was a nice hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is very expensive to eat and drink but we found that any place within Collins Street is expensive. You have to go to little Havana to find a delicious meal without the price. My mom and I did the Spa and the message was wonderful - the front desk at the Spa is a unorganized. Someone made a comment as to having the toilet and shower in separate areas and although I found that to be odd as well I liked the idea that they were water conscious with the toilets. The outside area reserved for drinks was also very nice and the drinks were really good even at a $16 price tag.
