My husband and I just returned from a long weekend vacation at So Ho Beach House. At first glance we knew it wasn't your typical South Beach hotel. The So Ho is much more homey, relaxed, and just plain lovely.
We were given a great overall tour of the hotel by Barry who proved himself to be a very customer oriented employee- kudos to Barry! Had many an interaction where Barry continued to be engaging, informative, and customer oriented. For instance, on a threatening rainy day, Barry took our hotel room umbrella from us as we were walking out the door and replaced it with an oversized right out of the package umbrella to be sure we were well covered.
The dining area on the 2nd floor (exclusive to guests and members) was beyond exceptional. Service was terrific and the food was beyond our expectation and very "out of the ordinary".
This hotel is off the beaten 'South Beach' path and you will need a taxi to get to that area but for us it was worth being there. The beach and the staff on the beach were very accomodating, the boardwalk was just outside the hotel and a great walking venue.
The room was comfortable, and except for the pillows (Too large and bubbly for me but I am a pillow freak!) we found the bed to be comfortable. The bathroom was huge and I enjoyed the soaking tub. They provide all the liquid soap, shampoo, blowdryer, flat iron and other typical products. Don't bother to weigh your suitcase down with these items, they are oversized and plentiful. Check it out....
