We went out two times with the Therapy IV, on April 19th and the 21st. The first time we had Captain Jesus and Chris as the first mate, and the second time we had Captain Stan and Chris. Both were great trips. These guys worked extra hard to bring some fish in the boat.
On the first trip, we stayed out a little longer than scheduled, and was rewarded by hooking up with a monster fish that we fought for about an hour, but then we lost it at the end as the hook came loose. We still ended up with a good Mahi and Blackfin tuna for the grill.
The second trip was during some really rough seas. We were really grateful to be in a extremely seaworthy 58' fishing vessel as the Therapy IV. I believe we were the only charter boat to brave the weather. With Captain Stan at the helm, the boat peformed flawlessly and we were able to focus on the fishing. We were then rewarded with another monster hook up. We fought this beast for almost 90 minutes before finally hauling it aboard. It was an 8' 4" Hammerhead shark! Talk about a great video pulling this monster onto the boat. Great photo op too!
On a special note, the first mate Chris was very friendly, informative, and a heck a good fisherman. He is working his butt off the entire time preparing bait and tending all the lines, all the while making sure the comfort and needs of his guests were constantly being met. He is quick to offer ice for your cooler, he will offer to turn on the air conditioning if you look hot, and he will even clean your catch!
We would highly recommend the Therapy IV for anyone looking to have a fun time fishing while also pulling in some monsters.
