“Beyond earplugs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

The Townhouse is a small gem in SoBe. Nice rooms, very reasonable lay out, good bathroom. The staff are very helpful and will happily assist you to find your way around. The weekend noise from adjacent clubs is beyond earplug level, especially around 4.30am when the clubs close!! The wifi is great and the complimentary breakfast is just good enough for the type of hotel.
Location is perfect, 30 seconds from the beach and within 10 minutes walking from attractions like Espaniola Street.
We'd go there again any time except the weekend!

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevator. Ask fr a room that does not face Collins Ave.

“Nice hotel but not for noise sensitive guests”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

A very nice small hotel excellent located to the beach and to all the attractions in south beach.
Very friendly and helpful employs . But the 4 floor is a smoking floor so if you don't like it don't forget to tell it when you check in. If you are noise sensitive the rooms facing the back have constantly noise from the AC. When you are facing a street side room, from 05:30 am every day huge trucks are delivering to the opposite setaii hotel and garbage trucks picking up the garbage this goes on for hours and hours

“It's party time!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

The Townhouse is a good hotel in an excellent location for experiencing all that South Beach has to offer.

We arrived early on a Saturday morning. We found the hotel to be located just a stone's throw away from the beach (a very welcome surprise!). First impressions were very good - The hotel looked nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Collins Avenue. The lobby was clean and crisp with bang-on-trend design touches and inviting sofa's dotted about - one side of the lobby turned out also to be the breakfast lounge.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating (offering us a room at 10am on a weekend was a very nice touch!). Throughout our stay we found the staff to be friendly and helpful - In our experience of Miami and in particular South Beach this is most definitely not the norm and in turn is a great credit to all the staff and management at the Townhouse.

The room itself was without doubt less 'Wow'! What you see in the photo's is what you get - bare minimalism. In my opinion it looked cold and empty (And I'm not a member of the usual chintz brigade). Room fixtures were a little shabby around the edges and storage was most definitely lacking. On the plus side the mattress was comfortable, a fridge is available for use (BTW - The charge for the branded Townhouse bottles of water found in the fridge is $3 per bottle) and there is complimentary, fast WiFi throughout the hotel.

If you have come to South Beach you are probably looking to party so a little bit of noise shouldn't bother you too much - However, this place is something else! If you intend to visit of a Friday or Saturday then be prepared to stay up with the party until it finishes. There is no escaping the noise and the late night visitors allowed to wander around the corridors.

Noise on other days doesn't pose too much of a problem - although better suited to early birds who can cope by being woken at 5am from garbage trucks in the service area of adjacent hotels. It's such a shame as the owners have clearly put a lot of work into this hotel but double glazed windows are sorely needed!

The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch - The general concept being that you help yourself to coffee, bagels, muffins and croissants from a small kitchen. The quality of what they offer is good but very limited. Why no cereal or fruit bowl?

In all the hotel is a welcoming place to stay in 'oh-so-hip' SoBe but could try harder to better please their target guest of Mr & Mrs Smith.

Room Tip: Guests to the roof top bar have to exit the elevator on the 4th floor and walk up the stairs - bewar...

“Dissapointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

This hotel may seem nice in the pictures, but when you actually are there, it doesn´t look so nice. I only stayed one night because I was having a business meeting with one of my clients. We could not have it there because the breakfast area was full of people, the area is small and the buffett is limited to bagels, buns, coffe and juice. My room on the second floor was facing the street and there was a VERY loud sound coming from passing cars and trucks. The hotel looks clean, although the carpet needs a good cleaning. We visited the rooftop area which is supposed to have a bar that was never open. Overall, I did not like the hotel and would not go there again.

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This hotel is close to almost everything and yet is also great value for money. The rooms are minimally decorated, but perfectly comfortable. The rooftop garden is extremely well done and useful for both business meetings or relaxing. Continental breakfast is fantastic and inclusive and the service is impeccable. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to avoid the sterile multi national chains.
