“Friendly staff and Great location!!”

I have to say after reading the reviews I was reluctant on staying here but I'm happy I did! The staff was very friendly and helpful! My room was nice, cozy, and clean. On top of that the location was great! Just mintues away from the strip and beach! The restaraunt at the hotel was excellent. I ate more at the hotel then on the strip. I was very satisfied with my stay at the Beachcomber Hotel and would stay again anytime and thank you to the staff that made my stay enjoyable.

Much love from room 210!!

“Avoid if you can”

I booked a very last minute trip and stayed here during Art Basel. Last minute as in ... I decided on Wednesday that I wanted to go that Friday.
The price I paid for this place was way too high; but still so cheap compared to other hotels (given the weekend) I would NEVER pay that price during any other weekend but I was desperate for a place. I probably wouldnt even pay the regular price (which I imagine to be half of what I paid) because this hotel is just so sub-par.
The hotel is in a great location and very easy to get to if you take the airport flyer. Check-in was quick but the clerk made it very obvious he did not want to be there or even talk to me. There is no elevator, just a winding staircase, from the lobby to the floors of the guest rooms. Luckily I had a small carry-on but if you have lots of luggage or heavy pieces, good luck to you. There doesnt seem to be a bellman or anyone to help with the luggage and something tells the front desk clerk (if you happen to have the same fella) will not help. Wi-fi only works in the lobby, very inconvenient.
The hallway is humid and musty. The room itself is a decent size, good closet space, small bathroom just big enough for one person. Noisy a/c but works ok. Flat panel TV mounted to the wall had a pretty good picture but cable kept going out. the long banquet/desk is good for more storage. There's a mini fridge but it's stocked with hotel treats so you dont get much space for your own goodies.
Hands down the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in... Beds are lumpy, old, and you sink into some spots. I had some back pains every morning. Very shabby and worn out bed linens. The small bathroom needs to be re-done. Its not only old and outdated, but something about it seems that it just wont get clean no matter how hard you scrub. I actually wore flip flops while showering.
Don't stay here unless you really, really, REALLY have to.

“The perfect place for beach holidays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

After reading many reviews regarding the hotel, i was expecting a lumpy, shabby hotel, but i was surprised to find a nice and comfortable place, near all the atractions in South Beach. As I expected the people in the morning were not that friendly and were kind of rude, but it was not that terrible. On the contrary, the lady in the frontdesk in the evening was so kind and nice, that she also suggested me some places to visit and to have dinner and give me very nice advice. The room was big enaugh and had a king bed and a LED TV, air conditioner and a comfortable bathroom. They provide all the items for you to be comfortable, a mini bar, snacks, etc. I must say that is a nice small hotel in the Art Deco District, so it doesnt have elevator (it only has 2 floors) and dont expect to be in a luxury place. It is perfectly situated, only 1 block from Ocean Drive and from the beach, near the shops, Esnaola Way and Lincoln road.

“Great for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

I loved this little hotel and i thought the staff was excellent! for 79$/night it's the best deal on short notice- Leonardo and Patricia were excellent and easy going- Leonardo printed out maps for me to get to the airport and to the Keys. He was flexible with check in and handled any issues. You have to realize its not the Delano but considering the Clifton across the street wanted to charge 200$/night and didnt have nearly any of the charm of the Beachcomber, this place was fantastic. No pool but 2 blocks from beach. Close to shopping, restaurants etc... There is a Zagat rated Le Sanwicherie around the corner and their mini bar made me smile with condoms, cigs, snickers, drinks etc... The drinks are relatively cheap in the bar and the breakfast entirely suffices- They also have 16$/day parking with in/out all you want which is quite the commodity. Yes, the showers are a bit run down and the furniture needs a little help but it was clean, cool and close to everything and super easy. Thanks again Beachcomber xoxo

“Not good actually!!”

Bad smell in either corridor or room! The air conditioning was so noisy! You can find hair on sheet!

Room Tip: Corridor at the first floor has very bad smell!
