As a long time loyal fan & customer, I expected much more from Marriott than what this tired, small, overpriced, underserviced property offers. At $500 a night for our small room with standing only balcony (I know it's high season) and the worst executive lounge I've ever experienced made me regret deciding to stay here. We got in Friday night, went to the executive lounge (a very small, cramped room with a disgruntled non-English speaking staff who 3x in 30 minutes pushed the honor bar ticket in front of us to make sure we filled it out (a glass of merlot, low end brand) is $9 & the worst chicken wings I've had in my life. At, say $150 a night, I would have overlooked most of this. But $500 a night, only to find out the lounge is closed on weekends!. Gimme a break, Marriott! We were spoiled by our recent stay at the Amsterdam Marriott, which makes the particular stay here a truly embittering experience. There are way better hotels and deals in South Beach than this. And it is NOT central to South Beach bars & restaurants, unless you consider a 5 block walk "central".
