We stayed at the Red Roof Inn last night for an overnight layover on our flight home from our honeymoon. We chose Red Roof because of the low price and free shuttle to the airport since we only needed a place to stay for 10 hours. The hotel states that they have a shuttle that runs every 30 minutes to and from the airport from 5am-1am. We waited almost 45minutes to get picked up and then in the morning when we arrived in the lobby at 5am to get on the shuttle for our 6:45am flight the driver decided to not show up for work. The hotel staff called and he said he would arrive by 5:40a and then showed up at 6am causing us and another passenger to miss our flights. The $110 that we payed for the night was not worth the extra loses from missing our flight. Also the hotel was not anything special. We were placed in the 2nd building with a broken elevator where we had to cross a boarded up hall under construction that was full of trash to get to the other working elevator. Our room was fine for a quick nights stay as long as you dont mind holes in the bedding and dont want to shower. The shower was covered in soap scum and limescale. The area outside is nowhere that you want to walk at night with loud drunks falling down. Overall we normally dont mind staying in a less than optimal hotel for a quick overnight flight but in this case it was definitely not worth it. We would have been better off paying an extra $50 for a reliable hotel to end off our honeymoon.

Price was a little more than I would have liked for the room but it was really convenient access to the airport. Shuttle service was prompt and free. Room was newly refurbished. Some detail work was a little shabby but by and large it was clean and comfortable. They were still doing some remodeling on the lower floors so as of 1/15/12 there was some morning construction noise at about 8am that wasn't disclosed at booking. The experience as a whole was positive and it was a convenient place to stay right next to MIA. Keep in mind since it is so close to the airport aircraft noise can be heard. That is not unexpected though from an airport hotel.

This hotel offers a great deal for stay, park and cruise (or Fly). With one night stay at around $100, we were able to leave our car in their secure and gated parking lot for 2 weeks free PLUS got free shuttle ride to Miami Cruiseport for all four of us (other hotels would only cover 2 adults). Also, other park and cruise places around Miami cruise port charged as much, but they all seem to have security issues. Location is about 10 minutes from cruiseport, and only cost us $25 for a taxi to get back.

The hotel is very nice and clean. Rooms are all recently renovated featuring hardwood floors and upgraded appliances. The beds were very comfortable and, most important to us, the sheets were clean and fresh. Hotel staff is very courteous and they served a complementary breakfast. Check in and out was quick and hassle free.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our choice!!!

First and last night in Miami we stayed this place. Very bussy place, nice pool and not very loud. The near airport is not very loud- only in the day. In the night it is okay. Breakfast was very simple- other places have better breakfast for the price.
