“Way too much money for what we got”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Just spent 4 nights in this hotel. Positive: no problem with front desk staff (except they don't answer the phone and no wake-up calls). They were helpful as far as they could be. Blow dryer didn't work - was replaced same day. Room was dark and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Close to metromover.
Negatives: no blanket on bed - just sheet and bedspread (& we all know we don't want those near our bodies); walls were filthy; no coffee machine; no hot water in shower for 2 days out of 4; toilet wouldn't flush; sink backed up; carpet was filthy; had to have key re-keyed 3 times to get in room; only get 1 room key; nasty all-carb, all-sweet breakfast; breakfast started at 8 so cldn't even get coffee! business people are gone long before that. guess it's cheaper that way?; only 1 elevator worked 3 days out of 4; no internet access in room; lousy lighting in room; bottom drawer fell apart when I opened it; don't walk on carpet with bare feet; obligatory safe fee of $2/day; no hand towels - bath towels and one face cloth; no printer at computer downstairs (altho desk staff printed off our boarding passes for us).
A total rip-off for $220 with tax per night through hotels.com!!!!!! We might have endured all of the above except for the ridiculous price. We feel totally ripped off by both the hotel and hotels.com.

Room Tip: For one night, ok. More - not!

“Good for a one night stay only”

For where this hotel is and the location you would think it would be a classy place. Sorry to say not so much! We stayed for one night before going on a cruise the next day. The reason we chose this hotel was for the location. It is centrally located to everything. Our check in was slow and the reservation clerk was rude. Our room well lets put it this way as I walked through the door my first reaction was really...room smelled musty, the bathroom door had the towel hook ripped off with a hole in the door, and the bedspread and a stain on it Yuck. We had a great view of a cement wall. The continental breakfast was pathetic powder donuts, sugar cereal, bagels from probably a corner store. This hotel disappointed us with being where it is. However if you are looking for a cheaper accomodation for one night this hotel will do for one night only.

“great location next to metro to get around the downtown”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Yes the price is very right. The location is great, because you walk right out front door and there is the people mover metro. Yes, some of the front desk staff are not such people oriented, but for a no frill low cost huge suites with great bathroom, it is a bargain. Our group has stayed there for or conference the last 8 years.

“not that bad... great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

well.. for weeks i read the reviews and wondered if i do it or not. I had called the hotel a few times to ask questions and yes staff was rude or sometimes no one answered but it was the only place under 120$ and it was just one night. I kept thinking i made a bad decision but the location is excellent. YOu walk out and go right all the way and you are by water at bayside and its walking to alot of shopping especially to Macys and tons of electronic stores.
Yes check in was long as I had to ask if they had my reservation and then the agent finally said he didnt.
Finally we checked in, 5th floor, big room and no bugs, no dirty sheets or towels as i read. Yes this place needs to be renovated big time but if they renovate the price will jump. For one night its fine.
Yes they take a copy of the credit card, Yes they charge 2.$ for a safe even if u dont use it (we sure did)
Yes its true there are no Kleenex boxes.
I found the room noisy because i was on the street side- the back is quieter and has a great view of the little river where boats pass.
The room was clean and the there was a second area with just a couch and sink plus a 2nd door and there were 2 tvs.
The location is super and the hotel offers a shuttle to the port for 6$ per person but patience is needed.
Check out is at 11am or they charge you extra and continental breakfast was fine. No complaints on this.
One night only.

Room Tip: ask for a higher floor off the street

“Sad but true”

I should begin by stating that I have not personally visited this hotel. I was not able to join my wife and her friends on a Jan 2012 cruise. I decided to use the internet check out some of the destinations they were going to. They were staying one night at this hotel before getting on a ship the next day. When I goggled the hotel, I was surprised at the overwhelmingly negative reviews of the place. Later the same evening I called my wife to see how things were going.
This is what she said, "Can I call you back in a few minutes? We are just getting in a taxi to find another hotel. This place is disgusting. One of my friends found a huge blood stain in her bed. My room was awful. It was filthy, had dead bugs behind the glass in the picture frames and matted crusty stains all over the carpet and bedding!"
