We booked a 2 beds room and they gave us a king bed room. We were very disappointed because we didn't want to sleep together and we specifically booked this hotel for getting a double room. they said there was also a couch bed in the room, but it had no sheets, no pillows, and it was very dusty and there were insects inside.
The following day, a few hours after check out, we noticed we had forgotten my friend's coat. It was a very expensive Italian coat (about $1,000) so we went back to the hotel to pick it up and the reception lady told us she couldn't do anything because the manager had already gone home for the day and also housekeeping was, and she said she couldn't access housekeeping room, where the coat may be. She told us to call back the following day, so maybe they would had sent it to our home (5 hours driving distance) in case they found it. She refused to help us for more than half an hour, and she was lying because the manager was in the back, we saw him from the beginning. Since we told her we couldn't go back home without our coat, and she didn't care, we didn't have other choice than call 911. After 1 more hour, during which we kept asking kindly if she could please do something for finding our coat, because it was very expensive and very important to us, and she refused to help us (she also refused to call a manager or housekeeping at least to ask if they had found the coat), when the police arrived, after I went outside to speak with the police agents, the manager we had seen in the back office came to us with the coat in his hand and invented a story I didn't even understand! They wanted to steal our coat, and they only took it out from where they keep items when they saw the police. we had never had a more horrible experience in a hotel and we advise to distrust the homestead Studio Suites Miami Blue Lagoon.

We went to Miami for 10 days and thought of booking a hotel with kitchen. That was the reason we got attracted towards Homestead Studios in Blue Lagoon. The location is good and the rates are cheap but the quality of this hotel is extremely bad.

- There are flying insects all around the hotel which makes it impossible to go out of room. You can't even open your windows. The insects will enter the room if you take too much time while entering or exiting the room. Pathetic!!
- Bad quality bed and linens. Not even sure if they were washed properly.
- All the appliances were either rusted or badly damaged. When we entered the room all the appliances had a sticky veneer on top. We ended up spending a couple of hours just cleaning the appliances.
- Rooms are smelly. The window is in front of the room and the kitchen and bathroom at the rear. There is no window at the rear. This makes the ventilation of the room very poor which causes smell.

The rooms are very cheap but it is so due to a reason. The room is extremely bad and is not a value for money even at very low prices.

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel for 1 night. It was in very nice commercial area on the southern border of the Miami Airport. The neighborhood was very quiet, yet there were still many gas stations and restaurants within a mile or two. The front desk staff was very pleasant. I asked for extra pillows since only 2 came in the room, and they only had 1 extra, but they were nice so it wasn't so bad. The rooms were clean and no odor. Full refrigerator, coffee pot, dishes, pots and pans, 2 burner stovetop, kitchen sink and sample sized dishwashing liquid. We were only there for 1 night, but this would have been perfect for a longer stay. The room was quiet through the night, and the grounds felt secure with the gated access. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very recomended hotel, very helpfull staff, clean and nice rooms!!
