“Hotel is ok but not worth the price”

I stayed at this hotel recently with my wife. The location is great as it is right on the beach. The room was relatively clean. However, the bathroom did not seem very clean and it is tiny. There is no tub and the door hits the commode. Neither my wife not I are very large people. I can't imagine what a large person would do as they literally would not be able to fit in the bathroom. The rest of the room had a full kitchen, table and chairs, TV and the beds were fairly comfortable. Everyone working there was very friendly as was everyone in the area. I guess the worst part of the stay, was that I felt like we over paid. For this area in the off season I expected a little more for the money paid.

“Absolutely LOVE this place”

This is my go-to beach motel. It is beautiful and charming, and right on the beach. The friendly service cannot be beat. (Be sure to say hello to Huck!) The grounds are awesome- lush gardens, little details everywhere you look, patios and swings and porches....it is so romantic. Each of the rooms is outfitted with odds and ends "antiques" creating a shabby-chic kind of feel.

“Can't be beat!”

I stayed for 2 days/nights at the Driftwood Inn and couldn't have been happier, both with the hotel and the town. I checked out a couple of the other hotels/motels in town and wouldn't stay at any of them. Thank goodness the Driftwood is there! The first neat things are the beautiful Great Dane behind the counter and the Parrot beside it. What a nice welcome! Not to mention that the front desk staff was very friendly & helpful. My room was perfect - on the ground floor with a door walking out to the beautiful garden area and beach. A small group gathered in the evenings for the sunset. I really enjoyed Mexico Beach as it still remains small despite being a beach town. Just hope it remains this way. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. And of course the beach is wonderful.

“Victorian Inn on the Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

This motel is like a Victorian Inn. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Mexico Beach with it's white sugary sand and blue waters. The Driftwood staff were very nice and we fell in love with their talking parrot in the lobby. It is right on the beach and a pleasant atmosphere to relax, read a book or lay in the sun. The lobby is decorated with antiques and we enjoyed walking around looking at the different items in the lobby.

This place has character, but it's just not very nice. Worst feature of my room: the bedsheets were the wrong size so they kept coming off. It would be OK if it were cheap, but it's not.
