booked through capital one and boy was this worst mistake ever. locks did not work, electricity off in restaurant, bugs in the room, leaks in ceiling, rude staff, no towels in room, feces stains in toilet. we left after an hour of which 50 minutes were spent in parking lot waiting for husband to resolve issue on phone [ he did not accompany us]. this was the worst experience of our lives and hotel should be condemned and the owners condemned to death. worst part was trying to get a refund. owner is only in a few hours a day a few days a week [ i don't blame him i wouldn't spend any time in that hole either].

My room was clean... The room was a little small, but fine! They didn't give enough towels. But, I had no problem with service. When I asked for things, it was given in a good timely manner. The rooms are affordable and would stay there again.

The place was visibly dirty. There were smear marks on bathroom handles, dirt smudges on light switches and phone, and the bathroom floor made a sticky sound with each step I took on it. I wouldn't walk on it without putting my shoes on first. The light switch at door didn't work, remote to the tv didn't work. The room had a strong, stale cigarette smell. The staff were either rude or very muddled and absent minded. I left after the first night, and Priceline.com will not give me a refund even though they're the ones who booked me into another hotel, because staff at Econo Lodge claim I stayed all three nights. They also claim their rooms are clean and that my room was not a smoking room. I guess they removed the ash trays before I checked in and then called it a non-smoking room. The place is an abomination, and Priceline.com isn't very good either. Stay away and enjoy your trip to Melbourne!

We needed a place to stay before our cruise the next day. Without reading the reviews, I booked 2 rooms, one for husband and I, the other for friends. We brought all our luggage in and were getting ready to grab something to eat when my friend came running and yelling from the room next door. She found a tampon in the bed !! I got ahold of the cleaning lady and she made like it was nothing and just picked it up and threw it out !! I went down to the desk and told them I wanted to check out and explained what my friend had found. She was very nasty and said the maids always flip the mattresses. BULL !!! They have the nerve to charge me 15% of both rooms even though we were not there 10 whole minutes. My credit card company is fighting for me. Sleeping at a bus stop would be better then staying at this place. GROSS!!! We went right next door to the Americana,,,,same price and clean.....
