I was at a conference and decided to make it a mini family vacation. the conference was being held at the Marriott I was so disappointed that the Marriott was completely sold out. So after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, I decided to go with Marco Beach Ocean Resort. I am so glad I did.

With a 4 year old boy, the 1 bedroom suite with kitchenette was great. We stocked up for food and drinks at Publix. Every morning my husband and son had breakfast on the balcony overlooking the pool. One down point was that the fridge was not very cold (no controls to be found) and some of the food did go bad and beer went flat.

Bonus that the internet was free and wireless.

The restaurant Sale e Pepe (?) was excellent!

The pool at the Marriott was much warmer and nicer for kids but we had no qualms about walking through the beach and using the Marriott kids' pool.

Staff were all friendly and courteous. We also took the recommendation of one of the doormen to go to Old Marco Lodge and have the crab there and it was great fun.

The valet parking of $18/nite is a little excessive considering how much the room rate is. But I am guessing it is comparable to other hotels in the same area.

Very glad my first hotel choice was sold out which forced me to choose Marco Beach.

I hadn't been to Marco Island for over twenty years and I was very delighted to see how much it has built up.
This hotel was called a hidden jewel and hidden jewel it was. We loved it!! It is right on the beach and we were lucky enough to stay on the same floor as the pool. We could just walk up a ramp to the pool or take the elevator down and walk the walkway to the beach. It was quiet and very restful. Each room is a suite so you have a bedroom, living room and a full kitchen. We were only there for four days, but it's nice to have the options for snacks and drinks in your room. The staff was exceptional and couldn't do enough for us. We went on a Jet Blue getaway so we had free valet service everyday. If you are looking for a lot to do and exciting, busy vacation don't go to Marco Island. it is for people who want to relax, eat well and enjoy the beach.

We found the service,food ,and location were wonderful.The hotel has condos instead of hotel rooms.Ours was just beautiful with a balcony looking out to the Gulf..perfect for a breakfast coffee and a glass of wine later in the day.we would definitely return again. The layout to get to the beach was a little odd,and the pool was small..not a lap pool,but a splash pool.

Stayed at Marriott which is a great resort. Have always wanted to visit MOBR. Stopped by front desk , very nice , then Paulie approached me and offered full tour. Thanks Paulie for everything. Next time it's MBOR.
