“Will definitely go back again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2010

My mom and I found Silver Sands online and booked it without any real knowledge of the area or the resort itself. We were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. Laura in the front office was beyond friendly and chatted with us for a good 15 minutes to give us insight on all of the local restaurants and activities. The room was perfect and had all of the amenities of home. We really liked that there was a full kitchen and that it was well equipped. The pool and beach at Silver Sands were pristine and chairs/umbrellas were provided at no additional cost. I would highly recommend this for anyone (couples, families, friends, etc...) and we will definitely be returning.

“Great Beach Location”

We enjoyed our stay at Silver Sands in July 2009 while traveling with six other families with children. We each had our own condo unit that slept 4. The units are a bit small and some of the furnishing are dated, but it was a clean, quiet and well-managed property with an onsite office open during weekdays to get fresh towels and beach gear. The best part about Silver Sands really is the location and small size. Not only is it directly on a beautiful and well-appointed private beach, there is also a sandbar not too far out from the water's edge where one can dive and collect full-buckets of sand dollars. Our kids dove and collected several containers full to bring home, which was fun for all. The pool, community patio and grilling area and outdoor showers were also nice features that we enjoyed. The patios on each unit were of ample size and had both furniture for sitting, but also racks for drying beachwear and towels - an essential if you are spending much of your day in the water!

great place to stay. appartment very clean, kitchenware good, dishwasher:), bathroom as you would like it at home, beautiful beach, no crowds, good swimmingpool, a good place if you want your peace. little traffic on main road, good walking and biking on sidewalk. nice people in the main office. free use of internet. silver sands gave me the 'island-feeling'. i would return.

“Saw dolphins from the balcony! Nice beach with a lot of birds”

The hotel is perfect from almost all aspects but I don´t like when they don´t have a night watch/an office which is open during night.

“We will definitely be back!”

We stayed at Silver Sands with several other families as we were in a baseball tournament in Sarasota. The facility was extremely clean and well maintained. Our room was 236 which was a bit smaller than others that were closer to the beach and pool but was quite a bit less expensive (definitely worth the tradeoff for us). It was immaculate when we arrived. It was well equipped (dishes, utensils, etc). The screened porch is a wonderful addition - with a table, chairs and rack for wet suits and towels. The office staff was absolutely wonderful - really kind and helpful. We got an umbrella from the office to use on the beach (no extra charge) and there were plenty of chairs on the beach for us to use. We had free wi-fi in the room which was great as well. The location on Longboat Key was terrific as well with plenty to do and see close by. St. Armands Circle was only about 10-15 minds away.

There were no downsides to our stay. If we go back to the Sarasota area, we would definitely stay at Silver Sands again. Others from our team who stayed elsewhere and visited us at Silver Sands wished they had stayed here!
