The Shore Haven was booked by a 3rd party for us, since I was in Fort Lauderdale for work 1 day and we decided to make it a week and have vacation for the rest of the week.
We checked out the reviews @ Tripadvisor and thought we should be ok.
But after a 10 hour flight, a loooong wait at the famous US customs and another one and a half hour wait @ Rental car pick up, this is not the hotel we were looking forward to wear off our jet lag.
We were in room 169, right by the pool, it smelled of old people, and the carpet looked and smelled like it has been there, uncleaned, for the past 15 years. Turns out we were close, because when my boyfriend had been walking on his bare feet throughout the room, his feet were completely black underneath. The guy who checked us in was apparently not in a very good mood, I hope he's not always like that, but the 3 times I spoke to him, I couldn't find any glimpse of service, positivity or even friendliness.
I do hope the man is happy.
The airco in the room was extremely noisy and the toilet seems to be making strange noises all the time. Also the hotel is located next to a busy street, so if you prefer to sleep with the window open, don't. Fortunately we brought our earplugs. Also, with both our laptops and only 1 lock on the door, no safety locker and the ability for anyone to enter the premises, we didn't feel very comfortable leaving our laptops in the room.
The really good thing about the hotel is the free Wifi (which helped us to find a new hotel to spend our last 3 days in. Sorry if I'm being rude), and the proximity to the beach (5 minute walk) and Lauderdale by the Sea- Center. The town has really friendly people & nice bars & restaurants. Such a pity the hotel didn't live up to our expectations.

That's unfortunate.
I cannot be responsible for customs and rental car delays. If they upset our guests ahead of arriving here that is not our fault.
This couple is a member of a band whose reservation is made by a third party for the Boat Show.
The third party always advises us that she will only pay for the first few nights and the additional nights are the responsibility of band members.
Every year this band's members are surprised that they have to pay for part of their stay upon their late arrival. They then threaten to just leave if we do not let them go in without paying, they make some phone calls, and they stay. If they just paid without a late night fight year after year upon their arrival insisting that they should stay a couple days for free we would definitely have a better service attitude towards them. They could always take up their quarrel with the third party and negatively review her instead.
I specifically did respond to this woman boyfriend's emails regarding this telling him to work out the payment between themselves and the third party but I guess he did not and forgot about our emails upon checking in and did not tell her.
I am pretty sure that our carpets are cleaned more often than once every 15 years. Otherwise we would not be able to stay in business for 15 years. We do not clean them after every check out because it takes two days for them to dry out. We clean them about once a month, though I cannot be sure if her boyfriend's feet were dirty while walking barefoot in their room or outside on the way to the pool and back. However, if the carpet is dirty the issue can be raised with us and we will give another room while we clean that one. The issue was never raised.
Thank you for saying that our wi-fi network was quite good and good enough to help you find another hotel. Our network's quality has been a source of contention in previous negative reviews and I am glad that you help settle it now.
Ironically, the hotel in which the reviewer stayed afterward is located on the exactly same allegedly busy and noisy street A-1-A where our hotel is located. If you know Fort Lauderdale, if A-1-A is not noisy in Fort Lauderdale then it's no different in Lauderdale by the Sea. It's bad faith point of view that makes the difference.
I do not really understand the grudge to post a negative review because the rest of the band had a free late check out because their flight was leaving late, but I guess the rest of the band are not writers so out of all of this we just get 1 negative one.
