I loved this place, Correction We loved this place! It was more than we expected. The rooms were absolutely clean, the staff was absolutely friendly and bent over backwards with our every request! The ocean was steps from our balcony! We were able to walk every where since the "charming little town" is less than a block. Trip Advisor is a great resource but I think it is also a place for people who are never happy and can never be pleased to vent - shame on them! Wendy and her staff are fantastic and the hotel is a step into charming old Florida! I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this lovely gem! If I were having an event especially a beach wedding or reunion it would be here! We will be back

We just returned from our stay today. For the price of an ocean-view room, I feel it was reasonable. The location was convenient to shopping, food, beach, and the Pier. The staff was awesome. We spoke to three different staff members at length and they were kind enough to take pictures of us on the beach on numerous occasions until I got a shot I liked. I didn't feel like a number like when staying at a big hotel. I truly felt that my comfort mattered to them. Our room was small, but clean. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room, so the size wasn't an issue. The hotel offered us several coupons for nearby restaurants and even let me borrow an umbrella when it started to pour and I wanted to go out to breakfast. Though the window A/C unit was a little loud, I would consider returning again.

My husband and I ,Father and step mother stayed here the end of april. We both had oceanfront rooms anticipating the Airshow that was later canceled. The only positive thing we could say about this resort was the oceanfront view...thats it. Both rooms were FILTHY!!!Our room( #7) the electrical outlet in the bathroom did'nt work had to get an extension cord in order to dry your hair in the bathroom. The front desk was notified and no attempt was made to repair it during our stay. There was no safe in the room...we had to lock our money and valuables in the trunk of our car. Our bedding linens were very old and dirty looking. My dad and step mother stayed in #8.....very dirty as well. During there stay the toliet was not working properly...again no attemp to repair it when front desk notified. They pointed out where a plunger was located. Also, the lamp shades in the room were all discolored and full of rust. We expressed our dissatisfation with our stay when we checked out.The staff agreed and said they would talk to the manager. The manager said we cannot give any refund however, we'll give you $30.00 off if you stay another night. NO THANK YOU!!!! I would never recomend this place to anyone. I cannot believe this place is not condemed for the price they charge.Luckily we only stayed 4 nights.

I hesitated to make reservations here after reading some of the recent reviews. My husband and have stayed here several times in the past so I took a chance for a friend and myself. After years of traveling, it's also become apparent that bad reviews are often written by people with bad attitudes or unrealistic expectations. We found it as before - a charming, unique place to stay just steps from the ocean. If you are looking for brand new/cookie cutter accommodations, don't book here. Each room is unique and the motel itself is a little slice of "old Florida". Since there is only a large spa and not a pool, there weren't a lot of families with teens or small children. We enjoyed the smallness of it and the friendliness of other guests and the staff. Wendy and Casey were very helpful and not difficult to deal with as a couple reviews indicated. Since the weather was cool the week we were there, we especially enjoyed the courtyard. It is just steps from the ocean but sheltered from the breeze. A quiet and lovely place to sit in the sun. My friend and I did not rent a car on this trip. We paid for the GO Shuttle sevice from the airport which was a very reasonable price and very dependable. The rest of the week we rode the free Pelican Hopper around town and to the store. Shops and restaurants within 2 blocks walking distance. Hopefully this little place will not get swallowed up by further condo development in the area.
