This is an excellent, privately owned hotel. Very clean and well maintained. We loved the pool area which is filled with tropical plants and palms. Between the street and the courtyard/pool area is a 'wall of palms' --- this is a nice way to separate the hotel from 1A which can be busy in the morning and evenings. The courtyard was filed with nice sturdy tables and poolside chairs, and each evening the owner turns on lights and lights candles so it adds to the ambiance.
The rooms were quiet. We had a nice King size room on first floor. The wall were solid so it provided for plenty of privacy. Because the walls are thick plaster it also blocks the wifi signal so usually we had to open a window or sit in the courtyard. So if using wifi from your room is a huge priority, then you'll be frustrated. We found the courtyard to be a great environment to get some work done. The room came equipped with a mid-size fridge, microwave and coffee-maker.
The beach is a short walk away and it is a nice clean beach. The eating and shopping establishments are also within walking distance. Great diner's for breakfast, both in the shopping center and also down on commercial.
We found this place through Superior Small Lodges and (as always) read the reviews here. For us this would be a good place to spend a week or ten days.
The staff was very attentive and went above and beyond the call of duty.
