My first impression of the exterior of the motel was that it looked cosy and homely looking. However we then checked in through an ATM sized hole in the wall - evidently after a certain time in the evening they close the lobby and serve guests through this for security. I could be wrong but it looked to me like some residents were living there. There were BBQs and chairs outside some of the rooms.
When we got to our room I was hit by a strong stink of stale cigarette smoke. It was a non-smoking room but it smelt like it had once been a smoking room and the smell had lingered. There were hairs on one bed and tiny black things on the other (but we examined them and they were NOT bed bugs or similar!).
Breakfast was good - sealed mini-boxes of cereal and mini milk cartons were provided, along with coffee, juice and muffins, however when I entered the breakfast area I was hit by the smell of musty, damp air. I was therefore glad to get out of the breakfast area as soon as possible. As we walked back to our room after breakfast we saw the Police cruising round, which rounded off our experiences there. Overall I did not enjoy staying at this hotel and was glad to leave. I would not stay there again.
We stayed for 3 night's..oN tuesday mnorning we wer awakened by jackhammer's and saw's they were renovating the room ..You would think the hotel manager would move us the night before for our comfort..NOPE The staf there on sat and sun.were very courtious but, on tues. morning when i walked in this girl had a horiible face on and angry when i complained about not moving us the night before she just shrugged her shoulder'slike who care's so i immediatly checked out and so did my friend's that were with me...This girl should not be working with people she had no personality and was too miserable to be working the front desk...
My daughter and I stayed at this hotel as it was an affordable option while we were in South Florida for a family wedding. The hotel is fairly dated but they are trying to cover parts of that up by applying a fresh coat of paint to the lobby the day that we arrived. We stood at the desk for seveal minutes while two staff workers on the other side of the desk folded papers. Once they had finished THEN they greeted us and we were able to check in.
The next morning we went in to see what they had to offer for breakfast and while it wasn't much for a variety they were restocking the breakfast area so at least there was food available. My daughter and I went back to the room, placed the Do Not Disburb sign on the door (I don't like have strangers in our room) and left for a few hours of shopping. We returned to the hotel to get ready for the wedding we were attending and found a maid in our room. As soon as she saw us pull into the parking space in front of our door she hurried out and I reminded her that I had a sign on the door stating DO NOT DISTURB. My daughter and I quickly went inside to make sure everything was still there - especially since I left all of my jewelry sitting out.
The second (and last) morning we were there we went in to get breakfast and there was one muffin, no milk, and a few individual packages of cereal left. I asked the staff member who was getting himself coffee if they were closing breakfast early. He rudely responded that it obviously just needed to be restocked. About 10 minutes later he finally brought in some milk and five muffins - which were taken by the family that walked in as he was putting out the muffins. At least my daughter got some cereal! Oh well, at least we got some cereal. I couldn't have been happier when it was time to check out two hours later. The hotel is in a scary part of town and with rude staff and maids who walk right into your room even when you clearly have displayed Do Not Disturb I won't be returining to that hotel!
Stopped in at 3 AM hoping to find a room....gave our credit card and went to check out the room...we felt it was VERY SMELLY..SMOKERS ROOM. We went back to the front dest who informed us that we would not be charged, since we wre not planning to stay. He returned our information that had been photocopied and assured us that we would not be charged for the room...upon coming home, our Visa showed...YES a charge for a room that we did not stay at...We have tried to reach people at the hotel and they inform us that we are NOT in their system...right...and yet...our visa shows that we are being charged for this room..We are still awaiting a return call from the manager..hope they will credit our card..will keep this file posted
