I've never written one of these reviews before always check TripAdvisor before traveling. I'm posting the comments I sent to the complaint email address (and received no response) in hopes of warning other travelers:
I'm writing this brief note to relay my negative experience and communicate why I'll be advising my friends and colleagues to avoid the Lake Worth hotel. As a frequent business traveler, I've had bad experiences that weren't indicative of the brand as a whole and I hope that the extremely lackadaisical attitude at the this location isn't systemic at Hampton Inn corporation. My family was in town for three nights beginning last Thursday evening. While our three rooms were clean and well appointed, we experienced an apathetic and truly deflating attitude from the staff with every interaction:
* We stopped by the desk to ask for a cab before walking just outside the lobby to wait. After 30 minutes, we returned only to find out that a cab was never called. One of the staffers advised that no one had come by to ask for a cab before saying that had already called the cab company and they had advised that they would not be able to come. I stood by while he called the cab company and they arrived soon after.
* We asked for a 3PM wakeup call being sure to specify that it was to be PM rather than AM to avoid any confusion. After no wakeup call was received by 3:30, we called the front desk to let them know about the mistake. They advised that the wakeup call was recorded as 3AM rather than 3PM and apologized. Later that night, we received a wakeup call at 3AM.
* Even though we did not request it, we received a 6AM wakeup call on the first morning of our stay.
* Our request, made 3 months in advance, for adjoining rooms was not honored.
* Upon arrival, the wireless internet was not functional. I notified the front desk that I was able to connect and was receiving an error code from guest access website. The gentleman advised that there was nothing he could do. I inquired if there was an escalation contact or someway we could overcome the issue and I was told 'no'. The gentleman from the front desk did say that I sounded 'technically savvy' so I may be able to hack in through the 'ethos' system. I didn't pursue that vague option opting to use the Business Center.
* Since internet was not available, I attempted to use the Business Center's PC. The PC was extremely slow and I discovered that the Windows 7 machine only had 500MB of ram when the minimum requirement from Microsoft is 1GB (and the recommended memory is 2GB+). This wouldn't have been an issue had the wireless internet access functioned properly.
* 2 of the 4 lamps in one of our rooms were nonfunctional.
