We took a chance on this property despite what we read here. We were so pleasantly surprised! We are in FL visiting and this location is ideal. The staff is wonderful and we are very pleased with the accommodations. Definitely will be a repeater.

we liked the place it is clean and neat nice full kitchen and big beds the only problem is the neighbors its like a drug house or something. we walked from lake worth the town to our place and someone drove by as we were in front of the building and hit me with eggs :( and i am a member of TAN
Norien is the best. That's the inn keeper What ever you need she is there. From getting fresh towels to the clean and fresh rooms loved it. See you guys next year. Mark
If we had known more about the less-than-ideal neighborhood, I would not have booked this trip with TAN vacations. Fortunately, nothing happened during our stay. We tried to make the best of it, and used the South Palm Suites as a jumping off point to the Palm Beach area. We went to CityPlace (expansive outdoor mall) and checked out the Muvico and grabbed a bite to eat at Taco Vida, which is a quaint taco place. Pretty good deal with the Tuesday special ($2 tacos). Walked around City Place and took the free trolley because we weren't looking forward to going back to the South Palm Suites. Really, there is not much to do within walking distance of the South Palm Suites. Everything that we enjoyed was away from the South Palm Suites. Our 2.5 hr. kayak trip with Gone Kayaking was enjoyable. Another positive during our stay at the South Palm Suites was that we learned about the Diva Duck (water and land tour), which was a little loud, but provided a shaded open tour of the Palm beach area.
While chatting with a sales rep. at the Diva Duck tour, we asked her about other venues in the area. Specifically, we asked her about walking from our Lake Worth neighborhood to the beach. She strongly discouraged us from walking at night to the beach. She said she knew the area well because she used to live here and cautioned us to be on foot only during the day. Her feedback only confirmed our concerns from the moment we stepped into the South Palm Suites. We were expecting a nice condo-style format, but felt more like we were in an over-sized motel. Just to give you some more details...
There is a vacancy sign out front and the walls are paper thin. We were on the 2nd floor and could hear conversations people were having at the pool and could hear the splash every time someone jumped in the pool. The white-painted furniture had black stains all over it, the grout in the kitchen was no longer white, and the metal lamps had rust on the bases. Although things looked semi-presentable and were fairly clean, it is NOT some place you should go if you are on vacation and trying to relax. It is functional and serves its purpose for having a place to stay. Frankly, I'm stunned that TAN would even offer this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If we sound harsh, it is because we wouldn't want someone else to be misinformed and be setup for a disappointment.
We love it!!! I lucked out two years ago and found this place on the internet because we were going with a couple from church to take their grandson to see his father in West Palm Beach. West Palm Beach is just a little too costly for us as we just everyday working class
people. The city of Lake Worth is so close to everything -- Ft. Lauderdale, Everglades, West Palm Beach. There is everything you want -- shopping, deep sea fishing, strips with coffee shops, ice creams ships, pizzarias, 2 beaches within 1 1/2 miles. beautiful moonlight drives, hotel itself looks like a tropical paradise. I guess my favorite would be, Noreen, the manager. She is a jewel. You feel as if you have known her all your life and you will not have a need that will go not met. She also has a great staff helping her.
If this hasn't already gotten you pulling out your luggage and packing, then I just don't know about you!!!! I used to go to St. Pete/Clearwater every year, always said nothing
but the Gulfside. Guess what, after 20 years, I have now found my special little paradise!!!!!!!! I will live there permanently someday!!!!!!.
