This was a fantastic place to stay for this trip. When I'm in Orlando, I don't plan to spend much time in my hotel room. All I want is a comfortable (cool!), quiet sleep for a reasonable price, and a little breakfast to get me started in the morning. A short drive to destinations is a bonus. Quality Inn & Suites delivered on all fronts, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
- Arrival -
We arrived quite late (after midnight), but staff at front desk was helpful and courteous despite the late hours. No problems at all with reservation or check-in, but there was the small surprise of an extra fee to use the in-room safe. It was small enough that I was not too put-off, but I would have preferred this be included in the room rate. I was told we had to have the safe activated, but could not do this until business hours the next day. When I went down in the morning, the front desk told me the service-,am could come by "in the next couple of hours." This was a bit upsetting, since we wanted to get started on our day (with our valuables locked up safe), but thankfully he actually arrive in about 30 minutes while we were getting ready.
- Room -
The hotel had clearly been recently renovated. All of the furniture seemed brand new, or at least kept in great condition. Everything was very clean, and we had all the supplies we needed.
- Sleep -
The mattresses felt relatively new, not worn out at all. Air conditioner was a bit noisy, but was capable of making the room as cold as we wanted for sleeping. I like sleeping in a meat freezer. Our room on the second floor facing the pool was quiet with the exception of occasional families arriving home late. Personally, I slept like baby.
- Breakfast -
A complete breakfast available every morning until 9am (or so). I pushed the cutoff most morning, and the staff kept the food stocked right up until shutting it down. This isn't the typical continental either, and included eggs, french toast, and sausage. Mmm! I think there was a waffle iron, too, but I never had the patience to wait so just skipped it. Also fruit, cereal, toast/bagels and pastries were available. While you aren't supposed to take food out of the seating area, they didn't object to me taking a plate up to my girlfriend who wasn't feeling well one morning.
- Location -
This was a fantastic location to be in with a rental car. All the Disney parks were within a 10-minute drive (Animal Kingdom was under 5 minutes, MK was farthest at about 12.) There was never much traffic to contend with on Irlo Bronson, and all signage is quite good for visitors. While this is very close to all Disney destinations, it is on the Southwest corner of the WDW property, so Universal Studios (Northeast of WDW) is a bit farther. I would estimate 20-30 minutes to reach US/IOA from the hotel. There are tons of restaurants all along Irlo Bronson, lots to choose from.
Of course the hotel within WDW property will always be closer (which is the only reason I gave 4), and the Downtown Disney area is closer to Universal etc. But those are generally more expensive, and it's really not that much of a difference.
- Value -
I was extremely satisfied with the value of this hotel. We paid approx $75/night to stay here, including a rental car (booked through Expedia). For the location and quality, I was very happy. I would definitely stay here again.
