I wouldn't advice anyone to stay here. It kinda sucked !!! First off, the check-in is in a different hotel. So you gotta take all your luggae to the other hotel first. Then the rooms are not that great. The breakfast pretty much sucked. They alternate between eggs and biscuit. Everything else is the same everyday. Its eggs and biscuit every alternate day !!!! The Disney shuttle is a joke. Comes only 3 times and takes you only to one park. And picks you up from only one of the Disney parks at weird times. So the last shuttle pickup could be at 9 pm. when the park is open till 11 pm. So if you want to stay at the park, you'll have to take a taxi back. The breakfast was horrible and shuttle timings are very inconvenient. You can definitely get better hotels for the same price. This hotel is located at the end of a long driveway. So if you don't have a car or don't want to take a taxi, forget about going anywhere !!!! The staff is not friendly. They act like they are doing you a favor by talking to you. I enjoyed Disney but not this hotel. Definitely wouldn't stay there next time.

On all websites it is stated that we are sister properties located next door to each other check in is at either locations. A menu is place in all rooms listing what will be served for breakfast daily so we never serve the same items 2 days in a row

We stayed in Palms in May after a cruise.

I researched this hotel through Trip Advisor and saw that it was good value for price paid.
The room was clean, value was great.

1. A valuable ring was stolen from my room. My fault for not securing it in the safe. That was not the issue. We reported it, the head housekeeper came and did the obligatory search, key card printout made, and then we waited to make the sherrif report. We were told a manger would come. Never happened and we waited the better part of two hours for the Sherrif.

after spending all day at Disney, our card would not work in the door. When I went to the desk I was informed "you have been locked out of your room because we need a copy of the Police report."

I work in a hotel. The ONLY time you would lock a person out is if they overstay or have not paid. It was extremely rude and left a disgusting taste in my mouth for this place.
Management needs to check itself at this place.
I personally had to go to the front desk on checkout to fill out the incident report(just in case my insurance back home would cover it.

i got the distinct impression they were put off that I said the ring was stolen. Maybe it was just my imagination, but the next day, we had a maintenance issue. We waited for three hours and made four calls to maintenenance through the front desk.

My cousin(from Melbourne) put a different light on the subject and said they were possibly put off because we are an interracial couple, but I won't even go there!

I made sure from the outset of the incident to assure everyone that the maid is usually not the poerson who did it, I work in a hotel, etc etc etc.

It is a great place to stay, and I would not hesitate to go back, but I will make sure I secure my valuables and try my best never to interact with management at this place....

First of all we provide in room safes that are available to our guest. Second there was a full investigation by the hotel and a dectective from the Sheriffs department. The Sheriffs department cleared all employees and this claims was the 1st claim with the police in over 5 years.

“Pleasant Palms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2007

We found the Palms perfect for our needs. We read all the reviews here and were a little apprehensive after reading some of the horror stories, but we didn't find any major problems. We knew what to expect, such as checking in at another building and how there was a resort fee. We found the place easy to find and nicely located. It was quiet, peaceful and the grounds were really nice and well-kept. Check-in was a breeze, the room was ready and we looked at each other as if to say: "What's the big deal?" We visit Disney a lot seeing as we live in Florida, and we've stayed in some pretty bad places, including Disney property, so this was just fine and suited our needs.

Breakfast was great...so what if there were a lot of carbs, you're just going to walk it off in the parks. So what if it was crowded, you could go back to your room and eat. Okay, so the coffee wasn't great, but hey, you're not at Dunkin Donuts. There was plenty of hot water, the bathroom was extremely clean, the room itself was clean and roomy enough for two people.

We have a few negative things, but you'll find that anywhere. The walls were too thin and the air conditioner took awhile to cool down, but it was mid-July and over 100 degrees out, so that may have had something to do with it. Also, the pillows were lumpy and the bed was hard , but it didn't affect our sleep too much.

We would recommend this place if you're looking for a room that's comfortable, reasonable and close to the parks. You're really not in the room that much, so it's more like a place to crash at night. We didn't have any major complaints.

“Great proximity and clean rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2007

First of all, I want to give a big thanks to the room maintenance people. They always left the room really clean every day. I reported a broken drawer in my room, and they fixed it right away. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The breakfast was ok, but you would probably want to consider driving a short distance up the road to eat. We kind of got tired of the same thing everyday, and drove up toShoney's and Denny's. As far as the proximity to the park, it was very close to all disney parks. We had no problems with this hotel. I knew from the beginning that we had to pay an additional 7.95 resort fee, so that didn't bother me. The one thing I thought was a little bothersome were the speed bumps on the driveway to the hotel. Overall, this hotel was very clean, modern, and close to parks and restaurants. I found it very convenient. I rented a vehicle, so I couldn't tell you about the shuttle service.

  • Liked — the clean rooms, and the close proximity to the disney parks
  • Disliked — speedbumps on the driveway to hotel

“Be Careful!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2007

First off, The hotel is very close to Disney and there is a shuttle service that goes to the park-When it shows up. We waited forever and then the teenage girl behind the desk shrugged and said "guess it's not coming today" and walked away. The phone in our room was broken, the elevator was broken and the air in our room was unpredictable at best. The worst part was when the water was shut off for an entire day and no one seemed to think that it would be an inconvenience to the guests. The english muffins on the breakfast buffet were moldy and the egg "patties" were unrecognizable. The Hotel is at the end of a long parkway with nothing around it, so it's quite a walk to find something to eat and the only place that delivers to the hotel is Dominos. There is no place to get a drink at the hotel and the vending machines in our building were out of order.
Do yourself a favor and stay at a Disney resort or stay at a hotel on International Drive and pay for a cab to Disney... The "convenience" of this hotel is not worth the headaches.
