“Desperately needs work”

My main issues with this property are first and foremost--MOLD. This place is full of mold, probably from the indoor pool and the associated humidity. My 2nd issue--security. Anyone can walk right into the hallways from the 2nd floor staircases in spite of a sign saying "no reentry after 6pm". So i was assuming the doors lock behind you when you go outside using these staircases. Well--they dont. This includes the back stairways behind the building leading out to a very dark parking lot in back. Needless to say between the mold and the dark indoor room we were given with the only window looking out over the dark indoor pool area, and the knowledge that any random person from the street could be roaming around the hotels hallways, we did not sleep well. That being said, i realize that this is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for, and i truly believe the hotels mold issues are being caused by the indoor pool area. I dont know if the outside facing rooms are any better as we were only staying the 1 night and had arrived after dark and had dinner plans soon after we checked in, so we really didnt have the energy to make a fuss and change rooms. I did a thorough inspection for bugs and found none. Sheets were clean, blankets looked 10 years old down to threadbare and holes. Carpet was badly in need of replacing, bathrooms need serious updating, but again, budget hotel=budget bathrooms. I dont know what they are planning to do about the mold problem but honestly i dont see it getting any better as long as the indoor pool is there. I wouldnt stay here again. The smell from the moldy room permeated all of our clothes. I could still smell it the next night after we moved over to our timeshare condo. My advice would be--if you must stay here, request an outside facing room and keep your room door latch on. There were also no disabled parking spaces. Isnt that illegal?

Room Tip: Ask for an outside facing room

Stayed here as a package.Never again. We opend the door to our room and there was an overpowering smell of mold. Right away we told a housekeeper and she said she would spray. I told her we wanted to move. Checked another room same problem My son started to look around to find where the smell was coming from. The air conditioner was coming away from the wall and we looked inside and it was full of black mold. The toilet tank also black mold. Went to front desk and the girl was laughing at me when I was telling her. Wish I got her name she was the manager on duty on .Very very rude told us to go to the welcome centre and they would find another hotel for us. The guy at the welcome centre told us our only choice was the Orlando Grand which was 35 minuites away but he warned us that hotel had more complaints than the Ramada. We went to check out room #4 finally we found a room that was not smelly and was infact quite clean. The food in th buffet was very limited but ok. The hot tub was very dirty in the morning glad I did not use it. Used the outdoor pool and it was fine. If you have to stay in this place check the room before you pay for it. I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: check out th room first

“Beyond Bad”

front desk lady was rude. The pool is filthy and rusty. The whirlpool was half full, not filtering and festing bacteria. Out tub did not drain, took maintenence 1 hr to plunge and snake to get it to drain at 11:00 at night. Out sheets we were given from housekeeping were stuck together and stained. those brown sheets appeared to be over 20 yrs old. Parking lot pitch dark, can't find a light to safely park under, frightening. They had no clean silverware for breakfast, told us and everyone else we had to wait for the diswasher to run a cycle while out food sat on our table and got cold. The sofacouch my kids had to sleep on had springs sticking up into their backs and the matress was 30yrs old stained with unspeakable fluids over the years. Our non-smoking room smelled like mold and smoke. and this was the 2nd room. the front desk 1st gave us an attitude and the wrong room without a sofabed. worst place i've stayed with my family in over 15 years.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

“improvement needed”

We have stayed here several times, it ain't the Ritz but it works for us.....well this time we noticed several things that could be improved upon. First no cookies & milk! At our last check-in we found in our room chocolate chip cookies & 2 cartons of milk, how sweet & welcoming was that? Well they must have noticed that I could stand to lose a few pounds so no cookies or milk this time! They did offer in the lobby a carafe of ice water with fresh sliced oranges in it, so that was a nice touch. I guess maybe I should thank them for considering my calorie intake.
The blanket in our room was in terrible repair, I don't want to think too much about how it got to that state but it needed to be thrown out! It wasn't even fit to be used as a dog blanket. I called & it was replaced but geez! Why was it being used at all? The bathroom floor had a long wrapper on the floor, and both the wall & counter had a substance on them, so cleaning has fallen down sharply.
As always the indoor pool is great, but I don't always use it. I do however always use the bathroom & my bed, so I'd prefer the focus were on those. Clean bathroom & bedding that doesn't make you cringe.

Room Tip: Some rooms face the pool, so you don't have a view to the outside. All rooms are now nonsmoking.

“Never again”

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel with my family and was not pleased. The staff is polite and respectful but they look like they don't want to be there themselves. I had to ask for a different room because the first one they gave us smelled like mildew and the panel in front of the vent system was not fully screwed and I could see the accumulation of dust inside. The second room smelled fresh but there were fruit flies (even though we did not have any food in the room). The bed cover had numerous holes in it, it was very old. When asked for other linen, the gentlemen brought us another one with many holes. We mentionned that to him and he told us that they are all like that. There was dried out glue inside the drawers as if someone tried to stick the panels together.
There is an indoor pool between the front desk and dining area and it causes a lot of humidity. Maybe their ventilation system is not adequate.
The entire hotel needs to be renovated because the location is great.
It was cheap, but next time I'll pay more in order to have better accomodation.
