We stayed here for a week on a timeshare that had this property listed as one of its "top" choices. It is DEFINITELY NOT a top choice. We stayed in one of the villas. What was supposed to be a 2 bedroom was 2-1 bedroom apartments, joined by an interlocking door. Somewhat annoying when they tell you that once you have already checked in, but not a major issue.

Staff: The staff were horrendous. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. Checking in and out was a nightmare. They were unhelpful, demeaning, as if we should know all of their policies, and were just terrible to deal with. Trying to find out simple things like the times the pool was open involved talking to 4 different people since NO one knew. The only approachable person was the janitor.

Food: There is NO coffee, breakfast, or anything within a short drive. Bar food when pool is open, with terrible staff, yet again.

Room: Unclean. I checked out reviews before and started to get nervous about what we were walking into. Floors were dirty (advice was bring slippers - we did, thank goodness). Not a spec of dirt by overly neurotic cleaner dirty, but "your feet will be BLACK with dirt" if you walk barefoot. The bathrooms and beds were okay, but the living room carpet was as bad as the tiles. By the end of the trip, I was checking for bugs everywhere, it was awful.

Location: Aside from the food dilemma, the location to the theme parks was decent.

Save your money, go somewhere else. The next time we were in Orlando, we stayed at a Disney Resort (Riverside) and LOVED it. It is safe to say that we will never come near Calypso Cay again.

My family and I stayed at the Calypso Cay Hotel on vacation and it was a total dump! The "Pink Palace" would have been more appropriately named the "Pink Pig Sty." The room had mold growing in one corner and the furniture in the room was filthy. We had to ask for sheets to cover the couch so we could sit on it!! We asked for another room and was told the hotel was full. While we at the pool we found several other hotel guests whose rooms were just as bad. One lady said she complained so loudly that they finally agreed to move her to the Country Inn and Suite hotel there on the same property. I thought about trying the obnoxious route to get a new room, but I decided to behave. The presentation was long and boring, longer than 90 minutes. Then, they tried to cheat me out of the gifts they had promised me. Fortunately, I brought the original paperwork with me that listed everything I was promised. I can't believe they think someone is going to buy their timeshares after they have provided such horrible accommodations! You would think they would want to give you their best to convince you to come back. The villas were nice, but the hotel is worst I've ever stayed in and I would NOT stay there again!

We stayed here for 3 nights. The resort is good, there are 4 swimming pools, one mini golf, you can play basketball or volleyball. The bar by the pool is good, you got barbecues that you can use to spend a nice evening by the pool while the guy from the bar is taking care of you. It's close to every parks and they offer transportation round trip to all guests.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment with king size bed, flat screen TV, home cinema dolby surround, computer with internet access (even if slow), nice kitchen ... My only complaint would be for the sofa which was very uncomfortable.

Would recommend if you want to do the parks and be able to relax at night at the pool (one of them is heated!) enjoying a nice barbecue with family and friends.

My husband and I with our three small children styled for a long weekend recently. We already own a timeshare at Westgate Villas by decided to accept an offer to attend a presentation at this place. All I can say is fees, fees, fees everywhere. And the staff were a mix of nice but less knowledgeable people and rude, know it all jackazzes. Upon arrival they imprinted my card for $350 just in case we did not show up for the presentation. Mind you the marketing agency already held a $100 deposit for the very same purpose. Then they tried to hold another $250 for daily incidentals. My confirmation document indicated $50 total not $250. Some ugly Chinese looking lady argued me down about the validity of my confirmation from marketing indicating $50. Because I am pregnant I decided not too get to upset and let them hold the $250. I knew we were not going to need Internet, etc. I have my own.

So we finally get to the room which is on the third floor but elevator was slow as he!! I think we got lucky because was pretty decent and clean but we were facing the highway and thick brush - horrible few. Entire unit stocked with only 3 rolls of toilet paper. The paper was so cheap, we ran out of the first roll within hours. So I call for more paper. There is a fee for that. Cheap cheap. Ended up having to go to the grocery store to buy things we needed to avoid being charged fees. So their representative of "timeshare living" was horrible and they actually tried to sell us on how great they are and how close they are to Disney. No our timeshare is close to Disney - 1/2 mile from Disney. Can't beat that. They caught major attitude when I said that. Nonetheless no buy from us and I would implore anyone to avoid giving this place the time of day. Find another place and enjoy family time. I think calypso Cay will be going out of business soon and that would be awesome!
