“Disappointed”

I booked this resort for my husband's annual visit to Orlando for the Veterinary Conference. Three years ago we stayed here by chance because we arrived in Orlando without booking a room in advance. After checking at least 7 other local hotels with no vacancies, we finally saw this place with a vacancy sign. Even though it's a timeshare they allowed us to rent a room. I was impressed immediately with the whole unit. We thought that the full kitchen, 2 bedroom/2 bathroom with 2 jacuzzi tubs was fabulous and immaculate to boot. I liked that the floors were tiled everywhere except the bedrooms. The beds weren't the best but they were very clean and everything smelled great. That was then.

This time our experience was completely different. When we got there, even though we already paid in advance, the night staff (security officer) had no record of our payment so in order to get our room we had to pay again. She insisted that the daytime staff would correct everything for us in the morning. She tried to be helpful but it was only her 6th day on the job and she wasn't very knowledgeable so we paid again.

When entered our unit everything seemed fine, but I immediately noticed that the bedroom didn't smell fresh. It had a very strong musty odor. I wasn't sure if it was the carpet or the Window treatments but it was noticeable and very annoying. Since it didn't smell fresh, everything, including the bed was suspect to me and I did not feel like I was sleeping in a clean room or on a clean bed. In addition to that, the next day I noticed that my feet were sticking to the tile floor. I got tired of that quickly so I put some clean, white socks on my feet. Clean and white didn't last long. After walking around in the bedroom and on the tile in the hallway for only a few minutes the bottom of my white socks were now black! I thought about complaining to the front desk but that is not my style. Instead I put up with the dirty floors for 2 more days before I decided that I would just wipe down the tile floors since I had some terry cloth rags in my car trunk. I took a rag and some soap and cleaned all the tile from the hallway to the front door of the unit. When I was finished, my white terry cloth rag was so filthy with black dirt that I decided to throw it away.

To be fair, the first time we stayed here in 2008 we had a 2 bdrm/2 br unit at a rate of $129 per night. The unit we stayed in this time was a 1 bdrm/1 br at a rate of $70 per night. I don't know what happened this time because we were so impressed the first time we stayed here that I kept the hotel business card in my wallet for almost 3 years so I wouldn't forget the name and address of this place. After our latest stay , I won't be staying there again. Maybe they had a change in management due to the downturn in the economy or something. I don't know, but whatever happened, now this place is just like any other cheap hotel in Orlando that lacks cleanliness. I would have gladly paid $129 a night or a little more just to get a spotless room. Too bad they didn't offer it. Even if I'm only paying $70 per night, I expect my room to be immaculate. Tile is so easy to keep clean. If the floors were that dirty, obviously the maid is not mopping the floor. She probably sweeps up a little and calls it done.

They did resolve our double payment issue immediately and they were very nice to us over the phone.

“adequate”

My sister booked this through her timeshare group. I have no idea what the cost is but it was a decent place to sleep after being at the parks all day. It is not a 4 or 5 star resort but it was pleasant and the pool was very warm. The staff was friendly and the location was excellent. We had 3 units and everything you would need to keep a home was included. The $4.00 per load for laundry is a bit high. Some of the surrounding area looks a bit run-down and the outside of this resort looks a bit low-end but the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The walls are thin. In the front bedroom of the unit I stayed in I could hear my niece next door as if she were standing next to me. But I can also report that I did not hear any road sounds. I also found the beds to be quite compfyand the furnace works very well. It did take a good while to get hot water to the front shower. If you are looking for fancy, stay elsewhere. If you are looking for basic housing for the week, I was pleased overall.

RCI recommend this resorts for our needs. We are always travelling when its off season Mid September. Very quiet here and enjoyable. Child friendly. We had a 2 bedroom, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms with shower and jaccuzi tub, TV in all common areas. Wounderful place to just relax. Unit doesn't have washer / dryer though there was a W / D at the end of the hallway. Lots to keep you busy, horse shoes, tennis, shuffle board, paddle boats, BBQ with picnic tables, play area for the little ones, pool just to name a few. The staff are very helpful. Close by gift shopping, super market, restaurants, mini golf.Close to Disney World. We would come back here again.

“Home from home with pool and views”

We exchanged through RCI into this resort with the aim of using it as a base for some relaxation and opportunity to visit some places we knew (this was the second week after an exchange into the Sheraton Vistana resort). Check in was very efficient but they are quietly pushy in terms of trying to get you to take the tour and sell timeshare. The unit we had (3 bed) overlooked Lake Bryan and one of the internal lakes. The only slight drawback was that the balcony did not have a ceiling fan. The unit was of very good quality and a home for home. Bedrooms and bathrooms excellent with lots of space. The ipod docking stations in two bedrooms was useful and made a change from TV.

The resort has a tennis court, basket ball shuffle board, volley ball and two pools. When we were there end of August it was quiet many schools were going back. The pools were quiet and plenty of opportunity to relax in the sun. We were told that earlier in the month it was very busy and space at the pool was very limited.

There are a number of activities organised and they do try to focus on children. We had the impression that it was a very family friendly resort. It looks as if the resort is expanding currently 8 buildings which are now a mix of 1 2 and 3 bedroom units. If it expands further the pools will get crowded and some of the quiet ambiance that the place has will be lost.

Overall we were extremely pleased with the place and glad that we stayed there.

“Had a wonderful time”

We stayed at this resort on June 5-12. Met friends from up north and my son and daughter in law with our two grandchildren ages 3 and 9 months came for a few days.
We did have two units, one bedroom with a pullout bed and a murphy bed. the only down side was one bathroom. Our friends also had a one bedroom unit.
The resort staff could not have been more helpufll. If something did not work in theroom or was missing they were there to fix or replace it right away. the pool was clean and huge.
This is not a motel made over, not sure where anyone got that.
The other side is being remodeled, and very nice.
It was within walking distances of many resturants. Very close to all Disney things.
I would definately stay there again.
