“Excellent Location, Nice Fully Equipped Apartment, But Do Need A Car”

I stayed at the Barefoot'n The Keys from the 28th December to the 16th January. It is close to Disney world but there is no form of public transportation that gets you to where you want to go in a good amount of time. So I strongly suggest getting a car to get around also the parking is free at this resort. The apartments were nice and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I will say that the internet is really bad depending on the location of your room. Publix and Wallgreens are right down the road. A word of Caution saturday nights at Old Town Celebration it does get very noisy because they have a hot rod car parade from 7.30 to 8.30 and they rev the engines. Other wise overall it was very nice and in a good location to Disney World, only a few miles away from the highway to get to Universal and to Mall Melenia

Room Tip: book a room in the high rise tower

“A pleasant surprise”

It certainly is better in real life than in the pictures when booking it.
Clean, modern, well-maintained.
Only things I came to dislike were:
1) the amusement park which is kinda loud, but that's an annoyance only if you wanna go to bed before 11.
2) wi-fi that is available in common areas(!) only, and for 10 bucks a day. Come on, island one, the year is not 2002 anymore.

One more thing: If you are gonna have any questions before or after you stay there - you will have to chase those guys. They don't reply to e-mails or voice mail, ever.

Room Tip: If you get a room in the highrise, there's nothing you can do - one bedroom will face the amusem...

“Excellent property, room, service....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We found the Barefoot'n property online and thought the property looked good for a great price. We were more than pleased with the location and property as a whole.

We stayed in a one bedroom (rm 242D)in the high rise tower in April 2010 with our 9 month old and had a fantastic time. The staff was so friendly and the property was clean and well kept at all times. All of the highrise units face both the parking lot and the wetland/pool area. There was some noise from the roller coaster at Old Town but nothing that bothered us too much or kept us or our daughter awake.

The property is gated and a code in needed to get into the grounds at night, it is right next to Old Town which was amusing to stroll through one afternoon but definitely not an attraction in my mind!

The pool area was lovely thought the water in the kiddie pool was freezing cold so we stayed in the bigger pool for the week. They even had pool toys on site for the guests to use.

My only negative was that I had called ahead and asked to reserve a pack-n-play for our daughter to sleep in but they said it was first come first serve but they had 5 so probably not going to be a problem, well we were the 6th family to need one when we checked in so unfortunately we had to go and buy one.

The property is close proximity to any amenity you may need (we walked to most) and very close to the on ramp to the highway - only 5-10 minutes to Disney parks and about 20 minutes to the outlets!!

Great property and price - we'll definitely be back.

“Loved it!”

We stayed from 12/24/2011-12/31/2011. Four of us stayed in a 1 bedroom with full kitchen. It had plenty of space for mom, dad, 21 year old and a 7 year old. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The staff was great. The location was the best. We have stayed in the bigger resorts and I will never go back after staying here. Old Town was right across the street, everything was right there near us. We were in very little traffic staying here. We have stayed in the larger resorts and this one by far was much better. There was not a bunch of waiting around in lines for help. When we needed something, we just walked in to the reception area and someone was there to help. Very nice pool area for adults and children. I loved it and will be going back with my family.

“Great Location, lovely ...”

We stayed in a two bedroom unit for five days from November 9-14 2011. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and the entire resort actually looks better in person, as opposed to what usually happens.
The rooms are a good size, kitchen very well stocked and when an item was needed, the front desk staff were helpful and brought it to us right away.
The pool and hot tub are great and although it is right across from Old Town and a busy area of town, when you are by the pool in the inner courtyard you feel miles away from it all.
My one complaint is that the WIFI which says is available for 7.99/day or 29.99/week was not able to be picked up in our suite.
In this day in age, not having wifi access in the rooms is quite annoying. I paid for one day and walked outside and stood on the grass, and I could use it by the pool, but opted not to pay for the whole week.
Old town across the street has a pub - The Blue Haven or something to that affect that offers free wifi so I just went there for a beer and used it.
All in all, very happy with our stay.
