“What a Bunch of Snobs!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2006

We paid $95 a night over a holiday weekend! I was terrified about the hotel after reading reviews of this hotel posted here. So imagine my pleasant surprise when we arrived at a clean beach hotel. What a bunch of snobs who can't take showers because there was a bit of rust on the rim, blame it on the tropical salt breeze! The hotel was more than satisfactory when you consider the price! It was on a lovely little bay close to Sombrero Beach and a great beach bar right across the street! The room was cleaned everyday, and yes fresh towels too! If you are looking for a place to crash over spending all day on the water and all night at the bars...then Get Over Yourselves & Save Some Money (and do it soon cuz this is turning into an exclusive condo!)

“Please Please Please Stay Away!!”

I was going to Marathon to work for my company for a week. My manager states that this will be a "very nice" hotel. I am sorry, It wasn't a nice hotel. You do get lost trying to find the place and when we checked in at 3:30pm , the staff was extremely rude and told us to wait in the lobby while they fix up the rooms. Don't you think the room should have been ready by 3:30pm? (Housekeeping consists of one person)
They gave us (a group of 10) 5 rooms, all of them were extremely filthy!

When I went to the room:
- Extremely dark hallways
When I went into the room:
- the bed was very hard (I felt like I was laying on a piece of cardboard)
- the bathroom had mold on the walls and tiles were cracked and stained
- shower was not clean
- the walls in the room were stained
- Sliding glass doors, the locks did not work real well and I did not feel safe.
Also
- No Pool available for use
- No Restaurant/No Breakfast or coffee offered.

This wasI truly very unsatisfactory. I ended up leaving an going to another establishment nearby. The rumors from local residents were that this hotel should not have been opened after the last huriicane because it sustained heavy damage.

“Horrible Place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2006

Stay away.....do not stop....do not waste your money on this hotel....

We could not find this hotel, so we called. The woman at the front desk was rude and we should have kept going just because of that...We finally found the hotel and found it to be a
converted Ramada that we quickly figured out why Ramada took their name off of it.
NO POOL - closed from the Hurricane. Rooms with patched holes in the walls, and some small holes. We had trouble opening our door to the room, it would not budge until my husband used full force.

It was late when we got there or we would have checked out and kept going. It was the worst stay of our traveling lives. We will NEVER GO BACK !!!!!!

“Don't stay here..........”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2006

Terrible stay. The pool is closed from Health Advisory. Of course, we weren't told this at time of reservation. It is not really on the water. There are a few chairs overlooking a mangrove swamp..........There are some better hotels for better prices that are directly on the water within 2 miles of here.

The bathrooms were dirty. The staff was rude. No cleaning service. They only gave new towels and made the bed, didn't clean anything or even empty the trash.

“No Pool !”

We confirmed our reservation prior to arriving, arrived at the hotel, checked in and at no time were we told the pool wasn't available. We went to our room and got ready for a swim. We walked out to the pool to find a not-too-temporary sign stating "Pool Closed". We went back to the room and called the front desk to ask when the pool would be open. They said they had no idea as they were waiting for a part. It appeared they had been waiting for a while! We checked out the following day. We feel we should have been told before checking in since they advertise a pool is available.
