We are Bluegreen owners. This was our first reservation. This is a Hampton Inn pretending to be a resort.
Pros: Very nice staff. Impeccable landscaping team. Perfect grounds and pool maintenance. Rooms are large. First floor baths are huge. Laundry basket with detergent for a load provided, no charge. Washer dryer on premises. Restaurant with limited menu. Pretty views.
Cons: Sigh. I don't think I have an unusually high demand for cleanliness but I am convinced that housekeeping and interior grounds maintenance staff are blind. Wallpaper peeling in bathroom. Tub anti-skid bottom was just ridiculous - as if the staff don't know it isn't supposed to be dark gray. Towels are refreshed daily. Trash taken if you bag it up. Kitchen facilities in studio were silly - fridge, microwave, basket of dishes, toaster, coffee pot crammed in a 4 ft space. 24" table to eat on. Coffee stocked ONCE during 7 day stay with coffee packs for a 4 cup pot left to use in our 12 cup coffee maker. Promised full housekeeping service on day 4 - never happened. Old broom left for us to sweep. Broom found sitting on toilet plunger. Had to wash dishes in bathroom sink (!!!). Claims 2 queen beds, but they are just full sized. 32" TV. Nowhere to sit but on the bed or in cafe chairs at mini table. This could really be so much better.
Frankly, I live at a standard of living higher than a Hampton Inn and while this is a great vacation location, resort is not a word I would use to describe it. When I think about what my timeshare cost, plus 2 years of $529/yr fees, plus $129 resort fee because we actually used it this year, I am torn between being sick and just plain angry.
Come to this hotel knowing it is in a great place, run by nice people. But don't kid yourself into believing this is a resort.
Room Tip: Back near the pool!
