45 min drive to key west, close to sombrero beach, great motel for the money. close to publix, windixie, wooden spoon. Me and my wife always felt safe. though we never left anything of value in the room just to avoid any theft mentioned in previous reviews.
Marathon is a very quiet Island so if you want to have more fun and access to a larger variety of restaurants, stay at key west. You would have to spend 3 to 4 times as much though. You can check-in after 9pm just make sure you call them in advance so they leave your key at the front desk in an envelope. No safe available in the room. Small fridge available.

We stopped here for a night on our way to Key West for New Years Eve. The motel is nice and efficient. The location is in a very busy stretch of highway on Marathon so there is street noise, but the back of the property has a nice dock and place to sit and enjoy the water view. The pool is nice enough and clean. The issue I had was with the amount of LIGHT that came into our room at night. We were on the 2nd floor right next to the pool. The room is large and holds a king bed, chairs which badly needed cleaning but we didn't sit on them. There was a dining area and a kitchen an area for dressing with an open closet and a small bathroom with a shower and sink etc.. all were nice BUT everything is WHITE the walls, the floors everything. There is SO many outdoor lights and only mini blinds on the windows and door to (VERY NICE) enclosed balcony that the light was coming in illuminating the room. When I called the front desk the woman just told me that there was nothing they could do. That was a little annoying but overall a pretty good place near a great beach!!!!

Checked in, went to the room, we were back in 5 minutes because the toilet was clogged. Asked the receptionist if it can be fixed. Were handed a plunger. For "health and safety reasons" we had to clean the toilet ourselves, at 100+ per room. Wow.
Asked if we can be transferred to another room. Yes, but at the regular price, not the rate we had purchased through Expedia. So we left. Of course, no manager was in sight and the receptionist could not care less.
Asked Expedia for a refund. Expedia called the manager, who by then somehow knew FOR SURE that we had clogged the toilet since it was working PERFECTLY fine before we arrived.
Manager refused the refund and Expedia also refused, since the customer is always wrong and a liar. Even if other people's reviews told of the same kind of issues.
So yeah, screwed by both, but for the last time. Will be getting my business elsewhere. Meanwhile, buyer beware, have the plunger prepared.
Oh yeah the room could have been nice otherwise, too bad they prefer to have a laugh at customers instead of fixing their plumbing.

We stayed here with 2 adults and 2 kids initially for 3 nights but ended up booking an extra night. Our room was big with a kitchenette and an outdoor screened in porch where we had our cooked dinners and breakfast every day. The heated pool was pretty and big. We enjoyed having our coffee at the dock every morning. Pretty view. Staff was nice and our room thoroughly cleaned every day. Place is close to the 7 mile bridge and The pretty Sombrero Beach. Overall a nice stay.
