We spent New Year's Eve 2010 and more here and we were impressed then about how Pelican Cove treated guests. The complimentary champaigne and glasses in our room added a nice touch. This year, we noted the beach is still raked and groomed daily and they added free wi-fi internet service. The pelicans still abound,the pool and spa are well maintained. You will find many great restaurants, activities and reasonably priced shopping nearby including a few that are within walking disatnce of the property. Find time to walk in Founder's Park which is just up the road and along the bike/pedestrian path and neighborhoods nearby.

Just arrived back from our second stay at the Pelican Cove Resort. My wife and I were there for 16 nights and did not want to leave.
If you are looking for a place to relax, Pelican is definitely the place.
It is located close to fantastic restaurants.
The beach is quiet and private with the best Tiki bar for late afternoon drinks.
The staff is exceptional and beyond friendly.
This is a true winner.

If you want a beautiful view of the Keys and especially many fun pelicans, this is a wonderful place at a reasonable price. There are many amenities with it's lovely sand, swimming pool, bar/cabana, location, and the nice staff who work there. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect rating was that there is a problem with the internet--but trips to the office with our laptops in the evenings solved the problem. Who wants to be on the computer when there are so many terrific places to visit?! Thank you to the staff whose caring attitudes are reflected in the beautiful facility and enjoyable stay we had there.

Took advantage of Pelican Coves online special of "Stay Friday and Saturday and get Sunday night free" and later added another night. I booked it for the price and the fact that the reviews weren't terrible. We arrived at night and were pleasantly surprised to find a fab ocean view in the morning. The office staff was absolutely phenomenal. Very helpful and enthusiastic with lots of suggestions for restaurants that were right on target. The room was very clean. The decor is dated but who cares? The sofa was comfy for lounging...the bed was too soft for my taste but I like a bed like a board.

We were in Islamorada for an art show and so never made it to the beach, pool or bar...never had a problem with the free wi-fi. kept my connection throughout the weekend. The only negative was the Tiki Bar across the way.Lots of loud music 3 out of our 4 nights. Muted country music the last night. Again...just personal taste...

I would stay here again and probably will next year. The price is about what I would expect during the season in the Keys.
