We are writing this post from the balcony of this beautiful family-owned resort and taking in a sweeping view of the Atlantic Ocean. This property is not only great for couples and families, it's also a terrific venue for weddings, and special events. Room blocks are available for groups and there's a cool tiki hut area for parties (in fact they're setting up for a small wedding right now) They also have all kinds of water sports right on premises (we're taking out a sunfish this afternoon) as well as a tennis court, two pools and a sportfishing charter. Even though we live in the Keys, we use the Chesapeake as our own little get-away and especially love staying in the waterfront one bedroom suites that have nice bed linens, double balconies, a separate jacuzzi in the bedroom, large living room and kitchen area. The resort also has very cute, pet friendly cottages with Kitchenettes and you can enjoy a hot breakfast every morning in the "Islamorada Room" which serves up scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, etc. Assistant manager Debbie Pearson, front desk manager Will and Caser along with the entire housekeeping staff are always so nice and accommodating. They make our stays here all the more enjoyable and are one of the reasons we keep returning to this little piece of paradise. Time to go sailing.....
