I've been spontaneously coming down to Key West an average of 3 to 5 times a year for the last 10 years, and always stay here when they have a room left!
The value for location can't be matched. right in the heart of the action, but plenty quiet enough at night.
The staff(and in particular, Renner), has always been friendly and attentive, and always taken care of us, sometimes above and beyond.
I'm very much looking forward to the new rooms and pool/courtyard additions being completed, that will be a big scoop of ice cream on my pie!
My only problem, is that too many people will find out about this place, and they won't have a room left when I pop in down there!!!,

Love it, love it. You could not ask for a better place to stay in Key West, right the middle of Old Town. All of the staff is super friendly, very professional and very knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are clean, neat and very fresh. I have been staying at the Southern Cross Hotel for the past 8 years and will continue each and every time I visit KW. My last stay was in August 2011, can’t wait to get back down!!

Stayed at the Cross last November and had a great time. The hotel is under a massive upgrade with new rooms and the addition of a pool that is under construction. I've been staying at the Cross since I stumbled onto it while looking for a place with a great location, good rooms, and a great price. For anyone not familiar with KW it's hard to find all three. That was over 10 years ago. The bonus I got was the manager of the hotel is very professional and very knowledgeable about KW. If your looking for a clean, affordable hotel that is in the middle of old town Key West, this is the place for you.

Great location. In walking distance to everything. Have been staying here for the last 10 years. Rooms are nice and clean, well kept. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any needs you may have.(i.e, Extra towels, etc.) Renner always takes such good care of us. He is always available and friendly. He also makes sure that the guests know of any events that are going on that you may be interested in. Check-in/out is always fast and easy. This is our home away from home. We have recommended it to alot of our close friends, who have also made the trip to KW, and all have been very satisfied.
