“Great location, friendly staff, nice clean room..”

Stayed here over New Year's with a few friends and we had an excellent time. Yes, it was VERY expensive, but that's what you're going to pay for that time of the year. Actually it was much cheaper then most of the other 3-4 star hotels. We arrived around noon and our room was already ready. The front desk people were very helpful and friendly as well. The location is one block from Duval St and only blocks away from all of the action. The only "negative" if you want to call that, are the ROOSTERS. The Inn provides you with earplugs and I'm glad they did. There are roosters roaming the grounds, and they start yelling at 2am! We didnt expeirence it every night though.

Other than that, I would definitley return to this hotel and recommend it to other family and friends.

Room Tip: The 2 queen bed room was VERY big with a nice "kitchen" area.

Admittedly, I booked late, and got the only double room available for the week between Christmas and New Year's eve. I could not find anything else, so I took it. It was expensive $300 a nite. room C4. I wanted to stay in a B and B, not a big hotel. Lighthouse Court is very pretty. Landscaping, pool, cafe, all very pretty and well maintained. The location is perfect. Walk to everything--you don't need a car. My problem with the place was the room. It was so small, you could barely turn around. Not one hook on which to hang a wet bathing suit, not one tiny shelf on which to place toiletries. The toilet broke twice while we were there, and the staff did not come at all the first time it happened, till the next day. And the shower....that's the deal breaker. Black mold in the tile grout and silicone caulking. YUCK. The room smelled funky. The only window was out onto an alley..so, basically no natural light at all. Nobody has vacuumed under the furniture in decades. All in all, I enjoyed my stay in Key West alot, but the room was NOT the highlight of my stay. And as others have mentioned, the redhead at the desk could use a key lime mojito for a little bit of an attitude adjustment. Wouldn't stay here again unless a better room was available.

Room Tip: Dont book C4 unless you don't mind no natural light , a funky smell, and a moldy shower. Oh yea...

“Clean room, friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

OK, let's get the negatives out of the way: my room was tiny, the hot water was virtually non existent, and the continental breakfast was 7-11 quality. In short, this is not a luxury hotel. I'd even say it's a little pricey for the quality.

BUT it depends on why you travel to Key West. The location, literally next door to the lighthouse and right across the street from the Hemingway House, is terrific. I felt very safe no matter how early I rose or how late I came in, and that's important to me. The hardwood floors are immaculate. The pool area is quaint. The staff is friendly and helpful. The earplugs in the room? Those are for the roosters, not for the noise from the other patrons.

So while this isn't my first choice in Key West, I'd stay here again.

“Key Lime mojitos for breakfast? Yes, please!”

Quiet abode tucked away. Directly across the street from the Hemingway House. Best of all, you can enjoy key lime pie and a key line mojito for breakfast. Great pool area and very clean.
