“Private, Quiet and Romantic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We stayed in the Jacaranda room for three nights.

The newly updated bathroom was great.
We loved all the soy based toiletry items (handsoap, bodywash, shampoo and conditioner)
The towels were lush and soft. They even provide "make-up removing" washcloths.

The room was large enough for a small love seat, which would've been nice, because the single chair wasn't very inviting. The only other place to sit in the room was either on the bed or bed bench at the foot of the bed.

The bed linens weren't top notch. Our mattress cover kept bunching up under the sheets which was annoying. There were plenty of soft pillows to prop yourself up to read or watch the flat screen TV.

There was plenty of storage - chest of drawers and a large closet with inset shelves. Other amenities included: Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, refridgerator, coffee machine and recycling bins.

The garden areas at Old Town Manor are stunning. If you stay in the building behind the main house, you will really get a feel for the Florida foliage. Be sure to check out the "jellyfish" fountain in the back corner at night. Very cool!

As for breakfast ... we like warm, home made goods which fill the air with an enticing aroma. No such luck here. If you want something warmed up, there's a microwave. The breakfast presentation is pretty but the selection is not as good as they describe on the website.

Room Tip: Stay in the building behind the main house for more privacy.

First of all, we sincerely thank this reviewer for their opinions and thoughtful constructive criticism. We are thankful you enjoyed your stay with us!

Because of your review, we are making it a priority to review our mattress pads and linens. To be uncomfortable while sleeping is unacceptable and we will rectify ASAP. We are in the process of upgrading our seating arrangements and have included a number of large comfy chairs in each room. I don't believe the perfect chair has been found for your room, but rest assured it's in the plans.

For breakfast, we are limited by health department requirements, so we don't have the ability to actually bake in the kitchen to give off that wonderful aroma that you wished for! However, we make every effort to make sure that we reduce high fructose corn syrup and add organic products when possible.

We hope you will be able to return in the near future, if only to make sure we do what we promised and improve our quality of service.

“A great deal of charm for the small price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I can't believe what great value this guesthouse is, considering the price of Key West accommodation. It all sounded a little too good to be true, and I expected it wouldn't look quite as inviting in real life as it appeared in photos. If anything, it was even better in the flesh. My room, the Queen William, was lovelier than anticipated. Although it's period features give it the warm, cosy ambiance of a time gone by, it is at the same time a cool and inviting retreat from the heat of the Florida Keys. The bathroom appeared recently renovated, and is elegantly decorated, spacious and clean.
Throughout my stay the staff were professional, friendly and helpful, without being intrusive, as to maintain a feeling of guest privacy. The organic breakfast was surprisingly good. I will have to eat organic more often! I especially liked the blueberry bagels. The historic garden setting is lush, cool and tranquil, offering plenty of opportunity for a quiet place to sit and reflect. Although you can't tell from the garden, the property's location is just a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of Duval Street. In fact I doubt there could be a much better location, being just several minutes walk to Mallory Square.
I can't really fault my stay at Old Town Manor, but if there was one contrary thing I had to mention, it would be that I could not open the windows in my room to let in some fresh air. Perhaps I just didn't try hard enough. The air conditioning unit worked very adequately to cool the room anyway, and it's operation was nice and quiet.
The best advice I could give for this property - book early so that you don't miss out on the room that you want!

“tree top room nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

My wife and I really enjoyed Old Manor House. We did not find the tree top room small.
There is a queen size bed, a straight chair, and two chests in the room. There is 5.5 ft. on the left side of the bed and 3.5 ft at the foot. There is a nice flat screen TV and DVD player which we never used. The bed is firm for a good sleep. The room has a private bath. The private balcony is great, perfect for morning coffee or nightcap. The staff was always pleasant and helpful.
The breakfast is exactly as described and was just right for us. The high speed internet is fast.
This is not a hotel with suites, but was a great bed and breakfast.

“Great place to get married”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Old Town Manor is a beautiful place with nice, clean rooms and a nicely kept property full of green plants and colorful flowers. The staff, Runi and Nicole were completely amazing, responsive and accommodating. All of the guests at our wedding were amazed at how wonderful this place is and no one had one negative thing to say about it. In addition to the Manor being an exceptional and unique place to stay, the location is also outstanding within a very short walk to the main attractions Key West has to offer. We've stayed at other hotels in Key West before, and they were nice but they don't compare to Old Town Manor. With the charm of a small B & B, beautiful rooms and grounds, and great staff we'll definitely return and stay there again!

“The Best in Key West”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My sisters and our husbands do a "Sister Trip" every year. This year we traveled to Key West and stayed at the Old Town Manor. This B & B is excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the time we booked this trip until our departure. Any questions we had before our trip were answered promptly. The rooms were very clean and very well decorated. Breakfast was good and it was a delight to sit with the other guest in the garden and have breakfast. This property is in a great location, staffed by wonderful people and was a real delight to visit. I would recommend this to anyone traveling to Key West. You will not be disappointed.
