“Location is great, but I will not stay at Casa Marina another time if I visit Key West”

Great location only pro
Cons: not kids friendly, last day we had to pay 50$ per hr after 12 since my son was taking a nap. And I really don't think the hotel was full. Felt that we were pushed out.
Elevator was broken for 3 days and except " sorry for the inconvenience notice " nothing happen....
25 $ a day parking fee and across the street you can park for free ....
Overpriced

If this was a $100/night hotel, I would've rated it a 2. We booked an Ocean Vista room.
The first room we were given reeked of cigarette smoke, (throughout our stay there were smokers on the room balconies, smokers outside while we were eating breakfast) in a NON-SMOKING hotel!
The room walls seem to be made of parchment paper (hello, this is Key West) - we could hear the people next door barely murmuring to each other, the shower is tiny, the mini fridge did not work, the bed is so uncomfortable with springs popping out of the mattress.
The room was dirty especially the shower curtain (moldy), some of the towels on 4 different days had boogers on them, the bed sheets were dirty, the floors were mopped occasionally - but this simply pushed debris around the floor. We left a note for toilet paper and Kleenex as they were both out, along with our daily housekeeping tip mind you, and the request was not fulfilled - but the tip was taken!
Save your money - find another place to stay.
On a positive note, the pool/beach staff is very pleasant and very helpful including proposing to make dinner reservations, since the concierge is nowhere to be found.

Room Tip: Find a different hotel!

“Wonderful Time at the Casa”

We've been staying at the Casa since 2008. At least 3 times/year, we travel to Key West and have enjoyed all of the different rooms availale at this Hotel. The Oceanfront/poolside rooms are definitely the way to go and are worth the extra pricing. The most desirable suites adjacent to the pool/ocean on the first floor will show more "wear and tear" than a similar room on the second/third floors-our experience is that the second floor units are a tad cleaner-especially the flooring.
The service is nearly always impeccable-Patrick and all of his associates at the front desk, are excellent. Jan, Robin, Suzanne and Nate at the SUN-SUN poolside bar are wonderful!!! The recent addition of Barefoot Billy's to the beach and poolside staff is a big plus-not only for getting chairs/towels, but also for arranging Jet Skiing/Parasailing/Sunset Cruising as well as dinner reservations. A true "outdoor Concierge"!!!
In the past, we planned our trips partially on the availability of special rate/packages that were offerred. It does appear that these are being reduced/eliminated by Waldorf and the rates have significantly increased. Hopefully, this will not continue.......

In all, we will always look forward to our next trip to Key West and staying at the Casa.

This Resort is listed on AMEX fine hotels list, basically a joke. Awful beds from 10 years ago, tatters bath towels and rugs, shower that worked 50% of the time on hot water, and mold in the bathroom. I am going to push to get this joke of a resort off the fine AMEX hotel. I would hate another high end member be subject to this place!

“A Small Piece in Paradise”

My family's stay at the Casa Marina made Key West a week of paradise! We never wanted to go outside the hotel because the beach, pool, staff, and food were outstanding. The Casa Marina offers great activities right from the hotel which really made my family have fun while getting closer together. The hotel also allows you to rent bikes and kayaks for a couple hours or a whole day. One of my favorite parts of the trip was our family's snorkeling trip (booked through the hotel). For two hours we got to experience the beauties of Key West through this hotel.
Our room had a gorgeous view of the water, which most of the rooms do. Although we couldn't see a sunset, the colors in the sky were still phenomenal. We also had a great view of the public beach... which was not as pretty. Also parked right outside the gates of the hotel were a couple of men living in their trucks. That scared some of the younger kids with us. That prevented my family from going to a restaurant nearby, but you learn how to deal. Luckily there is no need to ever go to a different beach.
The Casa Marina offers a small but beautiful beach. It was so relaxing. The hotel and staff really went out of their way to make everyone’s stay more enjoyable, and my family definitely felt like that! There were many good things and some bad parts of our trip to Key West, but staying at the Casa Marina was by far my family’s best decision. The hotel really made our vacation better, especially having younger children with us. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking about going.
