This hotel is not bad but I would note recommend staying here. Instead, I would recommend staying at the parrot key or doubletree for a little more money. The photos on the internet are gorgeous. While they are accurate, they can be a bit deceiving with gorgeous camera angles and shots of the best rooms. The pool is impressive during the day and gorgeous at night when lit up. The hotel is right on top of a major thoroughfare and has not grounds to speak of. The rooms are small and do not smell clean. The bathrooms are tiny. Most of the rooms do not have balconies, as the hotel indicates in its website. The TV was impressive. The room was mostly okay, but there were some cleanliness concerns. The bedspread had blood stains, including streaks of blood on it. I left a note for housecleaning, but it was still not changed. I had to call down and request a replacement. I didn't see any indications of bed bugs, but the streaks of blood were disconcerting. The TV was broken when we got to the room, but the staff promptly fixed it. The toilet broke, but the staff promptly fixed it (kudos to a young Latin gentleman who singlehandedly took apart the toilet and brought it back to working order in a matter or minutes). The staff was as helpful as they could, but the property could use some work to bring up to 3.5 star quality that would merit paying $200/night. It is in New Town Key West, a short drive from old town.
