“Pretty hotel with uncomfortable beds”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

people found this review helpful

We stayed for one night on February 7 and were very disappointed. The pool was lovely although mildly warm. The rooms were clean but the beds very uncomfortable - we had friends staying too, rooms 22 and 24 and they could hardly sleep because the mattresses were so lumpy. it's too bad when a hotel management does not listen to the concerns of their guests as the receptionist said a lot of guests had found the beds uncomfortable ...the staff were very friendly and efficiet. Hopefully management will read this review and do something about the beds, the most important feature of a hotel. Also there is rotting wood in the eaves behind the cabins, picture attached which questions the presence of mold in the rooms which are very smelly ...

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere

Dear Daniel 742,
Thank you so much for your posting and we are happy to respond as well! Key Lime Inn consistently wins awards for the cleanliness of it's rooms, so we are surprised to see your comments. We have several room types, some larger and some smaller, but all have ample space for the things you bring vacation; hopefully it's not your entire house!

The pool at Key Lime is 18 x 34 ft, quite a large and spacious pool, especially for a guesthouse, and it's heated! We do not advertise as a Bed & Breakfast at all. We do, however, include a complimentary Continental breakfast, served poolside, with each reservation.

Thank you, again, and we hope to see you at any of our 6 Historic Key West Inns soon!

“Exactly as described”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Room was clean, small and cozy but very plain. Only one chair in the room, so one of us had to sit on the bed. No pictures on the walls and only blinds on the windows. Curtains would have given it a more at home feeling. The rooms are separate bungalows and located away from the road. It was very quiet at night and was a very convenient walk to Duval street. We walked from the hotel to Mallory square to watch the sunset. Hotel is exactly as described on the website. The front staff was very friendly and helpful. The Housekeeping staff was very pleasant. The decription of the hotel was exactly as stated on the website. Parking was very limited onsite and once you got a spot you didn't dare move your car. There were several places to park across the street in front of the church. Our room had a mini fridge good for keeping water and drinks. The TV was very small but who is there to watch TV? Towels were provided for the pool. The free breakfast was very well attended, with cereal, bagels, english muffins, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastry, orange juice and coffee, best of all it was included!

Room Tip: Room 14 was very quiet and we didn't even hear the roosters crow. It was away from the road nois...

“Moldy and Nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

people found this review helpful

Room 18 If it were not moldy and stinky it would have been very nice. The hotel is part of Historic Inns of Key West. The rooms are not historic. The only building at the Key Lime Inn that is Historic is the main check in area. The location is very good and was perfect for our needs, not on Duval but just 2 short blocks away. Pool area was great but the pool was not heated as advertised and as stated when we arrived. Our 3rd day out our room was not cleaned and no fresh towels supplied. If we were to return to Key West we will try another Inn.

“A sweet little getaway spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012
1
person found this review helpful

Fantastic location. Super-cute little property. Quiet and romantic. Pool area is great for enjoying a glass of wine at night. Front desk is very helpful. Breakfast consists of a bit of fruit, muffins, bagels and cereals -- not huge but sufficient (besides you want to look good in that bikini, don't you?). Crisp, clean white sheets on the bed. Mattress could be upgraded otherwise, loved it.
