“We had a very nice stay at V11 however, agree with other reviews that the overall resort needs some updating”

Our experience with V11 and our hostess was very pleasant. Viv was very responsive and helpful. We felt very much at home in her home and loved having all the space for our family. Our 80+ year old parents did not have any issue with the spiral stairs however, it is something for folks to consider since the main living space is on the second floor. We had a lovely view from the unit and enjoyed walking around the resort. However, I do agree that the overall resort does need some updating and there is a "beach" area where there was a lot of garbage floating on the water (kind of gross).
A couple of hints for folks staying in the Keys for the first time - beware of no-see-ums (they come out at dawn and dusk) and will eat you alive. Keep covered up and close the doors until the sun has either rised or set. Buy the stone crab - they are delicious! The drive to Key West is lovely but it will take a little over two hours. We also had a ton of fun trying out all the local breakfast places.

“Unit R5 was much better than expected”

Pictures do not do this place justice. Pictures showed this unit much smaller than it actually was. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was much more spacious than we thought it would be. The Kawana Yacht Club grounds were immaculate; the pools always clean. There was something to amuse all ages of the kids we brought with us - from 5 to 16 years of age. Norm was most gracious in his hospitality and available to us if we had any issues (which we didn't). We have spents many weeks over the years in the Keys in various locations and this was truly more than we expected. We definitely will be returning guests.

My husband and I spent our belated honeymoon in Condo 206 of Kawama Tower and had a great time. The unit was clean, spacious and near a couple of great restaurants. We really enjoyed have a private pool and lake in the complex! Highly recommended.

“Nice, clean, but dated”

We stayed 5 nights at the Kawama Yacht Club in September. The condo grounds and pool were very nice. The kids play ground was decent. My wife and I had a few small issues with the development.
1. The Kawama Yacht Club says it has a beach, but it is NOT a swimming beach, you cannot go in the ocean swimming and must drive to one of the state parks a few miles away.
2. They have only 1 security guard on more than 1 occassion he was doing rounds, we had to wait 10-15 minutes for him to return to get back into the development
3. The Pool water tasted very strange, not chlorinie or salt.
4. The development looks like it was built in 60's or 70's and has NOT been updated since. Each condo unit is updated by each ower, but outside and grounds need some work.

Dont get me wrong, I paid $150 a night for a 2 bedroom condo in the keys which is awesome. If we went to Key Largo, I would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: If you goto the Keys in Florida and want to go in the ocean swimming with young kids ask the condo o...

“Kawama Yacht Club”

Stayed at Oceanfront unit #4 August 14th for a week. Managed by the Sanders who will answer any questions you have usually the same day as the e-mail was sent. The unit itself has everything you might need and looks almost new, really clean. Got some great sunrise pictures and view of Ocean from unit was pretty unobstructed. Had bikes for kids and a golf cart for us to motor around yacht club. If you have a boat, the dock is 30 feet behind condo. Restaurants to hit, Mrs Macs, Conch House, and Loreilie's in Islamarada for the best sunsets. Robbies to feed the Tarpon and their party boat was a great trip. The only problem is the beach was full of eel grass and pretty much unusable and a bit of trash [bottles-cans] at the point. And moon jellyfish which killed our snorkeling plans. But again this unit was perfect for what we needed.
