Tiki Bar = GOOD TIMES
Room = ENTIRE BODY COVERED IN BED BUG BITES!
Seriously don't stay here (I'm itching while I write this). I recommend the tiki bar, but don't walk near the rooms. When I say covered, I mean covered! Don't plan on wearing your bikini after one nights stay in that place! I noticed the bites the next morning and knew exactly what they were. I informed the front desk clerk at check out and she said she would take care of it. Later on in the afternoon we met another couple who just happened to check into our same room! GROSSS!!!! This just proves they do not care about the customer or their property.

Wish I had read Trip Advisor before staying here! I felt totally conned by the pictures of this place on the web! The rooms are uninhabitable. The place is infested with bed bugs!! it's filthy and looks like it hasn't been cleaned or updated in 50 years! My husband were booked in for 2 nights and after the first night we got the hell out of there although we couldnt get all the money back for the 2nd night! We left to go north to Miami and thanks to Gilber't's they gifted me with 35 nasty bed bug bites which played havoc with my skin for the rest of our holiday! Please just drive on! we have stayed in some right places but this one...........worst ever.

We traveled to Gilbert's over Christmas and can't wait until we can go back! Laid-back, inexpensive, truly charming...four adults in one room....couldn't have asked for a better location...rented a pontoon from the marina on the other side of the bridge for four days and took it out to the reefs...had awesome weather...again, we can't wait until we can return to Gilbert's!!

If you have no expectations about decor or cleanliness, then this is the place for you. Front desk staff was very nice, but we decided we just could not sleep in the room. Very old motel type property. Saw a houskeeper dragging bed sheets across the gravel parking lot then into a room. Bathrooms look bad. The droves of bikers started to arrive in the afternoon. Had read the reviews before hand and figured for 1 night we could rough it...In hindsight it was a bad idea. Too expensive for what it is. Do yourself a favor and go about a mile down the road to a legit hotel. Originally chose this place as it has a marina and we were going to rent a boat. That's all it has going for it.
