My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights of our honeymoon. We thought it was really nice. We got a free upgrade and breakfast under the tiki hut on the beach was great. We watched the sunset over the bay in the beach chairs drinks in hand (bring your own drinks). Had an awesome starlit swim in the pool after the sun went down. It was just an amazingly serene place.

This review is a bit late, but we had our wedding at the Coconut Palm Inn back in April 2011 and everything about it was absolutely perfect. From the planning stages all the way through the wedding, everything was absolutely great. We had a large wedding, so we booked up the entire hotel for 3 nights and only our guests were staying at the hotel. It was so cool to wonder out to the pool and beach and it was filled with all of our friends and family. Kathy (who is the director) is amazing. Being a bride planning a wedding from far away (the DC area), she was so helpful in every aspect; from providing recommendations on other vendors, to calming my nerves about nearby construction. It is not a 5 star hotel, but the rooms are all very clean and nicely decorated. It's nice that there are a variety of room layout/options to accommodate your guests budgets and preferences. They have a nice, but simple complimentary breakfast in the mornings which was great. They have grills for barbecuing and hammocks for laying which is also cool. All of our guests raved about it and talked about how much they can't wait to come back and visit. Definitely recommend for a wedding and/or just a nice relaxing visit to the keys.

The Coconut Palm Inn is a lovely retreat in the Keys. It's actually located in Tavernier, a few miles from Key Largo.

It's in a good location and there are many restaurants nearby. It's about a couple of hours drive down to Key West (I didn't like Key West - it was just one big tourist trap!!).

We stayed for a week as we wanted to have a base to explore the Keys. The property is not new and modern - instead its quite old fashioned but that is part of the charm.

The room we had was quite small but very clean and it had a nice porch that you could sit in and watch the sunsets.

The grounds of the property are lovely - a nice beach with palm trees, hammocks and quiet corners to sit and read. There's also a couple of wooden walkways that lead out to the waters edge so that you can sit out and leave the outside world behind!!

It's a place more suited to couples who are looking for peace and quiet.

The only negative - and its just a small one - was that there could have been a wee bit more variety in the breakfasts. After a week the same muffins, banana bread, tea and coffee was a bit monotonous. However it wasn't a major issue.

So in summary, the Coconut Palm Inn is not the place to go to if you're looking for a party atmosphere - instead its for couples like us who like to relax on holiday.

Highly recommended.

Just love love love this place! Headed down again with family. We rented a boat locally and used the docks which was great! Had to kayak and paddle board too. Lovely pool and the property is really well maintained
