We stayed at this hotel as part of a Christmas vacation to the Keys. I have relatives that live in Miami and some other family members that were also visiting from out of state. All of the rentals go through a 3rd party management company called Keys Caribbean. All of the condos are privately owned so there is NO quality control or consistency. In our condo, although it was "surface clean" the entire condo was grimy and worn looking with stains. The knobs were falling off the furniture and some were missing entirely. When we got to the "resort" we found out that we would not be able to have our family in to visit, even for a few hours on Christmas Eve. The manager was patronizing and completely unaccommodating to our situation (we were gathering together for the first time after losing a parent). We were forced to drive up to Miami 2 days in a row (1.5 hours each way) to spend time with family for Christmas. There is NO food available on-site and the common areas are average at best. Every time we tried to go through the gate we had to wait for the guard to decide to come sauntering out and count how many people we had in our car. He would annotate this information on his clip board and saunter back up to the guard shack and eventually the gate would open. One time we were stuck at the gate for 10 minutes waiting for the guard to do his rounds. Not an ideal situation at 11 pm at night after driving for 2 hours. This place has potential but I would NEVER return there as it is now. The management staff and leasing company have A LOT TO LEARN about customer service, cleanliness, and quality accommodations.
