AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS! It is a real DUMP!! The rooms smell like urine, there was cockroaches in the room, one drowned in my glass of pepsi. The heater/air conditioner did not work. The walls in the room were all crumbling and I dont think they washed the bedding in the last year. If you do get STUCK here like we did, make sure you keep your shoes on. The fleas will bite your feet if you dont.

If you enjoy self-supported bicycle trips this is an excellent place to stay before beginning your ride. I always begin my ride to Key West and back at the Key Largo in because it is clean, comfortable, convenient to the bike path. Most importantly, if you drive to Key Largo and plan to begin your bike tour there, they will allow you to park your car on their lot for a nightly fee.

I have stayed at this motel for years and have never had a bad experience.

I was looking for something that was clean and comfortable without spending a lot of money since I was travelling by myself. I found the staff very helpful and friendly, the room large enough, the bed comfortable (although the pillows were not firm enough for me), the place kept clean and everything worked as it should. The bathroom was Bogie and Bacall era, with it's pink and black tiles, but there was plenty of hot water and the drains worked as they should, so who cares about decor. The air conditioner worked fine and so did the television. There was a coffee maker in the room with complimentary coffee and a continental breakfast in the lobby each morning. The only thing I would add to the rooms to upgrade them would be a mini fridge. I thought the place was good value for the money.

Well,nwe arrived and found only one other place with room and we weren't willing to pay $175 plus tax. This place had a room and it was $145 plus tax. It was "do-able" but not again! Yes they may be renovating, barely, but still. Waited for check-in girl to complete other things in between checking me in but it was 8:00pm, but still!?!? Guests come first, but not then. Carpets were very dark (dirty?) And room in definite need of paint. Bathroom light switch is outside in "room" so while in bathroom your family may hit the wrong switch! Bed mattress should be replaced along with all linens! They were clean but very well worn. Ice, is located in the office in a cooler (ice chest). Parking is along the side of the building in a gravel (Keys rock large pebbles) and no payment or concrete.) Bathroom window is only window that ooes BUT they are jealosy style window and rge crank has been removed so they are permanently opened at 1/4 inch - your bathroom ventilation plus you can hear those outside talking in the smoking gargerng area as this is a complete nonsmoking property -- which we thought to be a plus but the room was very musty and we used Febreeze air Freshener to help it! It served the purpose for the night BUT not again.
