This place is totally not cookie-cutter. It is quite unique and beautiful. The rooms were large, especially with the verando in the front.Not particularly fancy, but frankly a nice change from the typical Marriott style room. The grounds are tropical. What was interesting is that from the highwayjust adjacent to the grounds, one would never imagine such a beautiful place is right there. From the grounds, you would never imagine a highway is just right there. From the grounds you can't imagine such a beautiful quiet beach is just right there. I suppose one could say that it is perfectly designed.

The hosts were quite friendly and the rooms were clean. We have stayed there twice, each time only one night, but I would have no problem staying there multiple nights.

After being in the very congested areas of Key West it was a relief to stay at the very private Largo Lodge. In Key West we drove through crowded streets to try to find a parking spot to watch the sunset at Mallory Square and missed the sunset entirely. At Largo Lodge we happened to be the only guests who stood on the pier to watch the sunset. The room we had was clean but not updated. It had a pink bathtub but that was actually part of the charm. There is no restaurant or bar on the grounds but there are many choices nearby. What you really get at Largo Lodge is a beautiful view from their beach area and a quiet tropical feel.

The tropical garden which surrounds apartments is beautiful. They lend kayaks for free which is great because there are not many beaches on Key Largo. Dolphin aquarium is nearby and you can see them jumping from the kayak. The staff is very helpful.

went there for a business trip on an over night stay-- was looking around for a fairly inexpensive place --just happened to stumble upon this place-- and it turned out to be a lttle jewel-- would stay here for a vacation anytime...
